Another yucky week. Its really time for things to lighted up!!!

So the week started out with LO great-grandmother passing away on monday night. :( I took wed afternoon off and went to the wakes with Hubby. I have never really been part of that kind of thing before. Honestly, the first funeral or wake I had ever been to was after I met hubby, and it was of someone I really didn't know. This was the first time I was "behind the scenes." It was tough to see hubby and his family so sad. :( The funeral ended up being on thursday, which was hubby's birthday! I can't think of a crappier way to spend your b-day. But he was great. He was so strong and never complained or felt sorry that it was on his birthday. He just said "**it happens." The day started out with LO being SOOO cranky! Couldn't figure out what was wrong with her as we tried to get her ready for daycare. I thought it was strange, but thought maybe she was picking up on our feelings, and she is rarely cranky, so I just thought she is allowed to have a cranky day. As we were trying to get her ready and trying to get ready for the funeral, the cat took a big pee on my boots! That set hubby off. :( But really, it wasn't her fault. With all of the crap going on, we forgot to scoop her.... eek! Then he couldn't find his tie, so we had to race around, get baby to daycare and run to the store to get a tie, and then make it down to the church on time. We did. After the funeral, we picked up LO from daycare to bring her down to meet some of the family who had flown in for the funeral. Daycare said she wouldn't sleep (VERY unlike her) and was quite cranky. They said that she was pulling on her ears, but we figured it was teething. So we took her down to the family, which I did not want to do because she was so unlike herself. Well, she pretty much cried the whole time and didn't want to walk, play or anything. She was so tired but wouldn't sleep. So we ended up taking her home. She slept a little in the car, but not much. And she continued to be unlike herself at home, so we took her to ER in a snow storm. Thank goodness, things worked out for us, and we were only waiting in ER for 10 min before we got in!!! UNHEARD OF!!! Turns out, she now has a double ear infection. Poor girl! DR said that the right ear (which was where her ear infection was two weeks ago) was either not cleared up or starting up again. Then he looked in the left ear and said that it was quite infected, bulging, had fluid behind it, etc. He said that's why she wouldn't sleep. When you lay her flat, the fluid would hit the swollen ear drum and would be quite painful. Poor baby girl! She never acted any different until that day! WOW. We got one dose of medication in her, and she was back to her normal self in the morning. Hubby stayed home with her just in case. We took her back to meet the family lastnight and had a nice meal and great conversation with them. She was still a little cranky, but nothing like she was the night before. Last night she was back to sleeping through the night. Ahh. I love my baby girl. She is so good. Even when she is sick, she is still a good baby. So hubby's birthday was not a great one: his grams funeral, taking a sick baby into ER, finding out that I was only getting paid for one week, not the full week we expected...and needed, etc. So I cancelled his birthday and we will celebrate it sometime next week, although not sure how, because we have no money! LOL Oh well. I'll figure it out.

Ahhhh.

It's been quite the week, again.... actually, its been quite the month! Sat the 15th was LO's first birthday! We took her over to her great grandma's house for supper and a family birthday party which she shared with her grampy! Grampy and grammy ordered a special cake for her. MICKEY! It was soooo cute! We put her in her highchair and put the whole cake in front of her.... I thought she might put her face in it, but she didn't. She put her hand in the yellow icing of mickey's shoe, made a weird face because it felt funny to her, and then ate the icing. MMMMMM! Then that was it, she kept scraping and eating the icing... yep, just like her mamma ;) We broke a piece of cake off for her and she ate it, but liked the icing more hehe! She liked her presents, but really liked some of the bags they came in hehe!

The next day was her baby party! We rented a meeting room at a hotel in town, and invited some of the girls and their babies that I have met since I had LO. There were 8 babies there under the age of 3 hehe! It was a blast. We brought toys in for them, layed a blanket out, moved some tables around and let them go for it! They seemed to have a good time. I was a bit worried what the moms would think of it, but it seemed to go over well.

Then I started a 7 day stretch at work, which went pretty well considering we had to take LO to the dr on thurs night because her diaper rash had turned into a yeast infection because of the antibiotics she was on for her ear infection....*sigh*
Wed was her baby well appointment and her shots. She did well with her shots. No reactions, and really didn't cry much at all, considering she had 4 of them! She hated being held the most. She was weighed at both appointments, and her dr said that she is in the 15 percentile for weight! And 40th percentile for height! Hehe she is a little peanut! He said that she is healthy though so its ok.

Also this week, LO great grandmother (Dada's gram) got sick and was admitted into the hospital. She has pneumonia and they gave her a one shot treatment. She had had a reaction from a simular treatment when she was younger, so it was quite the decision whether to give it to her or not, because it could kill her. But all went well with the initial treatment, however, they found out a day or so later, that the treatment is not working. So basically what they are saying is that she probably won't survive this infection, and if she does, she'll get another soon, and won't survive that one. So the family has been called in, and they are basically waiting.... My poor husband is so tired and stressed. :( He had to drive 5 hours out of town to pick up his relative and drive her 5 hours back lastnight. He got home around 2 am, and then got up at 6:30 for work! I'm off because I worked the weekend. What's even worse is that hubby's b-day is this week, and hopefully this is not the case, but he could end up going to a wake or funeral for his grandma on his birthday! That would be terrible. I'm hoping that doesn't happen....

As for LO, her ear infection is all better, her yeast infection is almost gone (THANK GOD!), but now she has a little cold.... ugh. Can't wait till the daycare sickness cycle is all done!

What a week.

Well, LO was healthy for a whole 4 days before she got sick again on sat, Jan 8th. I couldn't believe it. This time it was a runny nose and a fever, and a very cranky child. She did not sleep well sat night at all. Hubby and i were up with her most of the night. And then sunday night I didn't sleep well, because I was going to return to work on monday. LO didn't seem too sick monday so we sent her to daycare. Monday night she coughed all night. Tues night was the same, but daycare kept saying that she was doing fine there all day, not coughing at all. Then on wed when I came to pick her up, they said that she had been coughing a lot and even spit up her snack because she was coughing so bad. So we decided to take her in to her doctor, and it turns out, she has an ear infection! Of course THEN she started pulling on her ear, which she wasn't doing before..... I felt terrible. We decided to keep her home from daycare for a couple of days to get some rest. Hubby stayed home the first day, and I was able to take vacation for today, which I thought was really lucky.

So far work has been pretty good. I am surprised at what I remember and am getting used to the new changes (which are PLENTY). But I still do not love the hour long commute to and from work. That's terrible. I hardly have any time with LO anymore.

She is walking a lot now. She hardly ever crawls. She's a toddler now!!! ??? :S She will be a year old tomorrow. I can hardly believe it! I'm a little bummed that she is sick for her first birthday, but not surprised. Daycare has ruined Christmas and new years, why wouldn't it get her birthday too :( Poor LO! She is having 2 parties this weekend, so we are going to be super busy. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that hubby and I are both sick too.... It's been a pretty crappy week. I hope next week is better. The antibiotics are starting to kick in for LO I think, she was only up coughing once last night, and she put herself back to sleep. She is napping right now, although I thought I heard her a second ago.... now its quiet, so I am not sure.... She has been down for over 3 hours....!!!!! So I expect her up soon!

I feel like this post is all over the place and doesn't flow well, but hey, that's pretty much how my brain is working right now too. LOL Have a good weekend all!

Week one of daycare: IN.

Well, LO was sick until Jan 3rd or so. Just in time to start daycare on Jan. 4th. The night before her first day at daycare I found it hard to get to sleep. I even cried a little. I don't want to go back to work, and I don't want to send her to daycare. It didn't help that it was "that week" either....I sent her to daycare for a half a day on Jan 4th. She screamed as I left. I cried a bit, but not too bad. When I came back at lunch, they told me that she had a good day. She even napped, which I didn't think she'd do... The next day, she was up at 5am, and on and off again until I got up at 6 with her. She had 3 naps that day, and the daycare people said that she was great. She even interacted with the kids more, walked more, etc. They said that she has a little boyfriend that comes around and kisses her haha. Dada didn't love that too much HEHE. And when its naptime, they have to separate her and one of her little friends because the two of them chit chat and won't nap! LOL They were surprised that she doesn't like the music when she naps. But she doesn't even have a mobile at home, so I am not surprised. They also said that she headed down the hall to the office to visit hehe.

Then on the 6th, they said that she had only one nap, but when I looked at the chart, she had slept for 3 hours and got up at 1. NO WONDER she didn't have an afternoon nap! She had some tomato soup and bread for lunch! I love that because I wouldn't of thought of feeding her that because of my food limitations.... Its not something we usually eat, so I wouldn't think of it. She also had a marshmallow, but they said she only played with it hehe. Today she had 2 naps, and they said that she is doing very well for not being there for long. They said that it takes some kids a lot longer. They said she does a high pitched screach when they put her down for a nap. She does it 5 times, every time, and then stops and goes to sleep LOL.

We started her on half milk and half formula bottles on monday. Now she is on full milk bottles, and it hasn't affected her at all. We were thinking it might because of how she had such trouble with her formula when she was 3 weeks old. But I guess a lot of people in my family had the same problem and grew out of it by the time they were a year old. It looks like that has happened to her too, thank goodness!

She has terrible diaper rash and we are trying to get rid of it. We tried cream #3 tonight, so we'll see how that goes. Maybe corn starch tomorrow? They say thats good....

She got a new car seat on wed too. Its a graco Myride 65. So far, its great. She is not used to it yet, but as long as she has a blankie or toy, she is fine. She has formed quite the attachment to her blankies. She has quite a few different ones, and she just loves them. She will grab on to them and suck her thumb or curl up with them. Yesterday, I took her into the shop while we were waiting for hubby to finish work, and she put her blanket on the floor and curled up with it, right in the middle of the shop! I guess knocking over all of those suckers and trying to get the light bulbs really tired her out....

I am very glad that she is doing well at daycare, but I still wish I didn't have to go back to work. I spent this week cleaning, organizing, getting things done while she was at Daycare. By the time I get her, wait around for hubby to get off of work, and then get home, its time to make supper, eat, then bath, bottle, and bed. There is no time with her. I miss her! :( Oh well. Such is life from now on I guess.
