It's been quite the week, again.... actually, its been quite the month! Sat the 15th was LO's first birthday! We took her over to her great grandma's house for supper and a family birthday party which she shared with her grampy! Grampy and grammy ordered a special cake for her. MICKEY! It was soooo cute! We put her in her highchair and put the whole cake in front of her.... I thought she might put her face in it, but she didn't. She put her hand in the yellow icing of mickey's shoe, made a weird face because it felt funny to her, and then ate the icing. MMMMMM! Then that was it, she kept scraping and eating the icing... yep, just like her mamma ;) We broke a piece of cake off for her and she ate it, but liked the icing more hehe! She liked her presents, but really liked some of the bags they came in hehe!
The next day was her baby party! We rented a meeting room at a hotel in town, and invited some of the girls and their babies that I have met since I had LO. There were 8 babies there under the age of 3 hehe! It was a blast. We brought toys in for them, layed a blanket out, moved some tables around and let them go for it! They seemed to have a good time. I was a bit worried what the moms would think of it, but it seemed to go over well.
Then I started a 7 day stretch at work, which went pretty well considering we had to take LO to the dr on thurs night because her diaper rash had turned into a yeast infection because of the antibiotics she was on for her ear infection....*sigh*
Wed was her baby well appointment and her shots. She did well with her shots. No reactions, and really didn't cry much at all, considering she had 4 of them! She hated being held the most. She was weighed at both appointments, and her dr said that she is in the 15 percentile for weight! And 40th percentile for height! Hehe she is a little peanut! He said that she is healthy though so its ok.
Also this week, LO great grandmother (Dada's gram) got sick and was admitted into the hospital. She has pneumonia and they gave her a one shot treatment. She had had a reaction from a simular treatment when she was younger, so it was quite the decision whether to give it to her or not, because it could kill her. But all went well with the initial treatment, however, they found out a day or so later, that the treatment is not working. So basically what they are saying is that she probably won't survive this infection, and if she does, she'll get another soon, and won't survive that one. So the family has been called in, and they are basically waiting.... My poor husband is so tired and stressed. :( He had to drive 5 hours out of town to pick up his relative and drive her 5 hours back lastnight. He got home around 2 am, and then got up at 6:30 for work! I'm off because I worked the weekend. What's even worse is that hubby's b-day is this week, and hopefully this is not the case, but he could end up going to a wake or funeral for his grandma on his birthday! That would be terrible. I'm hoping that doesn't happen....
As for LO, her ear infection is all better, her yeast infection is almost gone (THANK GOD!), but now she has a little cold.... ugh. Can't wait till the daycare sickness cycle is all done!
