Nov. update

Christmas is fast approaching, and I cannot believe it. I have only gotten LO one gift so far, and nothing for anyone else! I have done no decorating at all yet, and not sure if I will. I love Christmas, and really really want to decorate, but if I am going to be moving into grams place, there is really no reason to decorate here, and then do it there.... I think I will wait and do it there. I am getting frusterated because I do not have the time to work on the house btw work and LO. I really need to get over there and clean! The plan so far is to get LO's room done, and then we can pretty much live there and I can work after she goes to bed. Thank god for my mom and her H because they are doing so much of the work. I feel so guilty!

LO is growing like crazy. She is still a little shrimpy compared to some of the kids her age, but she is growing in my eyes! I put a pair of jeans on her the other day, and standing, they were just fine. She sat down and immediately started to cry, and I looked and they were way too tight and cutting into her belly! They fit the week before! Crazy. She is saying a ton of new words and pretty much attempts to repeat anything you ask her to. love love love her!

She is unphased by christmas so far. I took her to wake up santa last weekend. She loved making all of the noise, but really couldnt figure out what the fuss over santa was. We'll see next monday when I take her for pics with santa! I hope that goes well!

It is challenging taking her christmas shopping LOL she is great for a while, but then wants to run away from me, and if i put her in the cart, she lets out this high pitch scream and laughs, cause she knows I will take her out of the store..... eek! She did that to me today.... I thought taking them out of the store was supposed to deter her from acting like that! Instead, she knows if she screams, she gets taken out of the store, and thats exactly what she wants!!!!!!

Strange.... I was positive I had written another post after this.....

Oh well!

Things have been super crazy the past few months. LO's great grandma died on sept 28th, and things have not been the same since. There's a bit of a family feud going on, but I think things will calm down soon. H and I are still split, although most people still don't know. I am ready to tell people though. He keeps saying he wants to work on it, but does nothing about it. He doesn't even follow through on the specific things he says he will do.... but anyhow....

I had a great weekend with LO!!! We don't usually get to do anything fun because weekends are usually about catching up. But this weekend, H and I took her to her daycare halloween party on friday night. We dressed her up as smurfette, and she won first prize for funniest costume!!! I was so shocked. She had a ball. At first she was really shy, but by the end of it, she was running around the room and I was chasing her lol. Everyone thought her costume was so cute, and most were laughing at her running all over the place!!

The next day was quite nice. I had to be at grams old house at 330, but didn't have much else to do. I had planned to take LO to the pumpkin place a few times, but never made it. I figured sat would be a good day. Just before I started to get her ready, I read on FB that there was going to be trick or treating at the mall! So I piled her in the car, took her costume with us, and went on the hunt for a pumpkin. I got a pic or two at the pumpkin place, but when you take a 21 month old somewhere like that by yourself, you usually don't get to take too many pictures. Thats one downfall to being a single parent! But she loved it, and picked out her pumpkin. I bought one for her and one for me. It doesn't look like we will have time to carve them this year though! BOO. So right after the pumpkin place, I took her to the mall. In the car I got her costume on, and then took her in. Turns out you have to wait in this massive line to get a treat bag and a map, then you have to go to the stores in order. Yeah right. my 21 month old is not going to stand in line for that long! So she pretty much ran up and down the mall and I chased after her until the line was down, then we grabbed our bag and went to the stores. I had a little bucket for her, so her treats would get put in the bucket. She didn't get the concept, but was cool with it all lol. We didn't go to all of the stores. We were there about an hour, and she started to get cranky. She threw her bucket, and laid on the floor at one point. Yep, time to go. I was proud of myself that I took her though. I am uncomfortable in those situations, because they are all families, and then there's single me and becca. I find it kind of embarressing actually..... But I went, and we had a ball.

Then today, we woke up to snow! LO and I spent the morning making a snowman, and shovelling the deck. Well, she pretty much stood there and watched me do everything... lol she giggled at the snowman, and when I asked her what his name was, she said "puppy." Other than that, she didn't know what to think of the snow, I don't think. Then her dad had her for the afternoon, and I went shopping (OMG :o) and got some groceries. Looking forward to taking her trick or treating tomorrow night, and hopefully getting some better treats than the ones she has gotten so far... I can't eat most of them LOL

Birthday Party day!

Today was the lady bug birthday party! BB was cranky as heck before we went (of course!) but she was pretty good at the party. It started to rain so they moved the party inside the garage, but BB is WAY too busy and kept going outside to play in the rain, and, well, I totally let her. It was a warm rain, and it wasn't raining that hard. She was soaked in no time, and so was I LOL But she had a great time playing on the slide, playing with the ball, and even getting on a tricyle and motorized toy ATV, which she figured out how to drive! Guess what I am going to have to get her! She was so busy, I didn't get to eat, and she only got a few cheesies and some juice! No cake or burgers or hot dogs LOL

I find those parties kind of hard, because I don't get to socialize and meet people because my daughter is soooo busy. Plus, I am always the only single parent there, even though most people don't know I am a single parent yet.... I feel kind of lower than the others, and embarrassed that I am a single parent, but I don't know why. I feel like people must think badly of me. Like I must have did something pretty wrong or bad to end up a single parent. I live in a town where there are very little single people, let alone single parents. I have pretty much no options or opportunities to meet people. Not that I am ready to date, but when I am, I don't know how it will work out. I don't even have many friends to go out with to meet people...Anyways, enough about me....

The mother of the bday girl asked about BBs costume, and I told her I made it. She said "You made it? Oh look at you!" I wasn't sure how to take that, lol but it made me happy. Then I couldn't remember if BB was wearing the hat or not at the time, because I didn't make that, and they will find that out if they ever go to the dollar store.... :D I really don't think she was wearing it at the time. I have to say, I was proud of the costume, even if it had no wings lol I felt like a mommy staying up and making it last night. Love my baby girl.

aug 26th-27th

Today was an absolutely beautiful day. I would have liked to take BB to the beach or park or something like that, but instead we spent the day running around trying to find some things for a birthday party bb was invited to tomorrow. Its a ladybug theme and the little girl's mom put on the invitation "you can dress up." I mentioned this to some girls at work, and they started giving me ideas on how to make a costume. I am not exactly the craftiest person in the world... I actually never even thought of using iron on patches and a red shirt.... I'm the kind of mom that would look everywhere for a ladybug costume in Aug, and if I couldn't find it, I would have got pjs or a ladybug towel... anything at all with a ladybug on it, and call it a day... But this time, I ran all over looking for clothing that I could use, iron ons, pipe cleaners, etc etc. as well as a gift for the birthday girl. Well, this is how things go for me when I try to make something (Food or otherwise....) First off, I literally had to go to every store in the town looking for something for her to wear, hoping I could find a ladybug coat, or shirt, or something. But I couldn't find anything. So I went back to a store I had already been to, and got red pants and a boy's red shirt. When I got home, I realized I had gotten the wrong size shirt. So I had to go back into town, which is about a 30 min drive. Awesome. So the first thing I did was trace circles onto the iron ons. I used a black permanent marker and the bottom of a bottle of calamine lotion. How's that for crafty? :P Well, when I went to iron on the patches, the ink that was left from tracing the circles got smeared all over the shirt. I actually thought the iron was burning it for a min! Then, after all of the iron ons were done, I started to peel the backing off. For some reason, the backing came off fast, but it left glue behind! So there I was scraping the glue off of every one of those little spots, with a quarter. Fun times! So even though I finished at 10pm ish, I had to put it in the wash after! The party is at 11am tomorrow, so I have to get it all done tonight. It is still in the wash, so the verdict is still out on how it will turn out.... fingers crossed... Stores don't open until 12pm here on sundays....

While we were shopping in one particular store, bb was getting bored. She was being such a good girl (seriously, shopping all morning, in the car seat, in the cart, back to the car seat, etc) I looked down and there she was getting her arm out of her cute dress she was wearing. I fixed it, but she must have done it 15 more times. Then she got both arms out and took the top of her dress down! LOL I had to laugh. No one saw her, but it was too funny! Mom calls her "teeny weeny nude-eenie" now lol.

She was yelling hi and waving to everyone as we walked through the stores. It was like we were in a parade haha! Everyone said hi to her and she loved it. Some would say she is very talkative, one lady had a little conversation with her and told her she was cute (which she agreed with), that she is agreeable (which she also agreed with) and that she is smart (which she also agreed with LOL)

She is still wearing 6-12 month clothes in some things (bottoms, and certain brands) But she is catching up and is wearing some 18 month clothes, but mostly 12-18 months.

I love that right now,she cuddles in and gives me hugs when I go to put her in the car. I know its because she doesn't feel like getting in her carseat, but I love it. I will stand there for a few min holding her in the parking lot before I put her in her car seat.

I almost forgot! I took her on her first pic nick yesterday after work! We went to Mcdonalds and got some food, then I drove up to the little park behind her daycare, and we had a little pic nick! It wasn't really planned, so I sat on my coat and she sat on her blanket, but she loved it. She actually sat for most of her meal. Then she played at the park for a bit. She loves the slides and teetertater, but really doesn't care about the swings. She always wants me to put her in, but then 2 sec later she says she is all done.

I'm sure there is more I want to write about, but my eyes are starting to cross, and I have to try to stay awake until I can put the load of laundry in the dryer... I seriously just about fell asleep sitting up right there! gtg!

Muah

She just learned how to jump too
She "sings" the abc's with me... lol I sign a few letters then I stop and she makes this singing sound. Sometimes she doesn't and I say its your turn, then she does lol

She is starting the tempertantrums phase.... its not too bad yet, but it is coming.... :(
She is also biting, hitting and throwing things.... This worries me a bit... I know every kid does it, but where my hubby and I split up a few months ago, I never know if she is acting out because of her feelings from not having her dada around, or if she is just going through normal stages.... It seems as though they are normal stages at this point, but it's always in the back of your mind... and you always worry about it. The biting may be from teething. She has almost all of her bottom teeth (left eye tooth seems to be on its way, as well as the tooth next to what will be the eye tooth on the right side...) she already has molars. Not sure how many teeth she has on the top, because she doesn't often let me see LOL Brushing teeth is sometimes a challenge too! LOVE HER!!!! :) :) :)

Pooped on the potty today!!

YAY! I haven't really been potty training her. I brought the potty out about a month or more ago because I was letting her run around with no diaper one night to get rid of a bum rash, and she sat in a shoe box and peed! I thought 'ok, time to bring the potty out!' I just have the potty out and I get her to sit on it when mommy is pee peeing. She loves to sit on it, and recently, she wants her diaper off when she sits on it. But she has never peed on it. She likes to wipe her bum and put the toilet paper in it, but that's about it. Oh she also loves to take the potty apart. But she was using it more as a toy, so I was thinking of putting it away for a bit, until I am on vacation in 2 weeks. But tonight, she was in the bath and we were singing and playing. I guess the singing relaxed her, because she started to poop in the tub! She has never done that before! So I asked her if she pooped, and she said yes. I picked her up and there was only 2 little pieces in there, so I put her on her potty and told her to poop. She kept getting up, and I kept putting her back. I started to sing, thinking that helped her before. So there I was singing "mmm mmm goes the little green frog one day mmm mmmm went the little green frog..." over and over again, and sure enough, she started to poop!!! She said "uh oh!" and pointed. I told her it was ok, and I made a big fuss telling her she was such a good girl, clapping, etc. She signed "more" and went back on the potty. When she got up, she seen the poop and I made a big fuss again. She again signed "more" and did it again. She wasn't actually pooping any more, but she loved the attention. Then she put the seat down and said bye bye and all gone lol What a good baby girl.

Going to try to get back into writing this blog!

A few times over the past couple of months, I have thought about writing in this blog. But I always thought that I didn't have enough time to write about everything that has happened. And then more stuff would happen, and I get further behind in writing. So I am going to start writing about what is going on currently.

Today, I was thinking of taking the baby to daycare so that I could get a few more things done around the house on my day off, but when I got up, it was actually nice out. We haven't had much of a summer in the way of weather, so I decided to keep her home and take her to the beach. It would be the first time I have ever taken her to a beach, and she is almost 19 months old! It took forever to get everything packed and get her ready!! I was getting a little frustrated, especially when she kept running away from me when I was trying to put her sunscreen on! But we finally were ready to go. She looked so cute in her bathing suit and skirt!!! By the time we were ready, the weather had clouded over, and it looked like it may rain. But I thought, its not raining yet, seize the day! So we drove for about 45 min and got to the beach (O.P.) Its pretty private, which I love. She went right over to the water and put her feet in, then hands, etc. She also started throwing rocks in the water and loved the sounds they made. That's probably the first thing that made her smile. She was very serious today for some reason! But she had a ball playing in the water, throwing rocks and shells, and walking barefoot in the sand.

We were walking down the beach, and a woman yelled out to us. When I looked up, she was very far away, walking with a dog, and waving. I thought that was weird.... But waved and kept on our way. About a half an hour later, she was closer, and baby was at the water concentrating on playing with rocks and shells. I noticed the dog running towards her. He didn't look to be threatening, but was running towards her pretty fast. I was knelt down beside her. She didn't notice the dog until he was a few feet away from her and it scared her so bad. She actually screamed "AHHHH" and shook :'( I felt soooo bad. Even thinking about it now, just the sound of that scream :'( it was terrible. I picked her up and comforted her and said look at the puppy, what does a puppy say, etc and she was fine. She was even pointing and waving to him.

A little while later another couple came by and they were talking to her and waving. She loved it and waved back. We stayed for about an hour, but had to leave because 1) mommy was silly and drank coffee before we got to the beach... and 2) baby threw her hat in the river and mommy didn't have another one.....

BB had a little nap on the way home, and when I got home, there was a msg from a friend saying a few of our friends were meeting and taking the kids to a playground if we wanted to meet them. BB was sound asleep in the car, and she usually sleeps for about an hour and a half to 2 hours, or more.... and then I had to feed her lunch. It was 12 and they were meeting at 1230, so I knew I wouldn't have time. I FB a msg saying I could'nt, and bb woke up right when I hit send. So I took her in, got her changed, fed her and drove back into town to meet them. It was fun. BB took to the little water park, which really surprised me, since she doesn't like water on her head in the bath. But at the center of this park were a bunch of buckets high up that would fill wtih water and then dump a ton of water, hard and fast. She kept wanting to go towards them, but she is still small, and that would flatten her lol. So I had to keep pulling her away from them and steering her towards the water that sprays up from the ground, which she loved. We got a freezie for her and a baby ice cream for me, which she got a bit of too lol. Then she started getting a bit tired, because she really didn't have a proper nap, just in the carseat. We played in the little playground for a while, and one of the girls' dads played with us. He kept saying how he couldn't believe how much bb understands for her age. He had her sliding down the slides and peeking out of the tube that connects the slide and the stairs. We had a great time. Then it was tempertantrum time when I wanted to hold her and head to the car, and she wanted to be down and running around. She fell asleep in the car again, and kept sleeping even when I put her in her crib. She only slept for about a half an hour at home, which was fine. Gane me just enough time to start supper, etc.

My mom and step dad came over for a quick visit. They had a great time watching her "dan" ie:dance and she learned how to jump yesterday, so she was jumping and giggling. Absolutely love that girl.
