During the next few weeks, I discovered that physically, things had already begun to change. I could no longer do certain things I had taken for granted, such as work out. I would usually walk on the treadmill for at least a half an hour, at 4mph, incline of anywhere from 5-11 with no trouble at all. Now, 10 min at 3mph, incline of 3 sent me staggering for water and rest. haha. I had been having weak spells at work, and morning sickness had set in, bigtime. Every morning at 8:45am it would start. Dizzy, weak, neausea, you name it. Some days I could hardly stand up. I was glad that the sickness waited till I was already at work, but its pretty hard to have morning sickness in my field. I work in a hospital setting with patients. One day I was so sick I not only had to sit down btw patients, I had to run to the bathroom and on my hands and knees, toss my cookies, while my student who had to follow me that day, and patients waited for me. I never ever vomit, so I was a bit surprised, but what can you expect from morning sickness. I did think this morning sickness was a little extreme, but everyone experiences it differently. I just thought that it was weird that it started at the exact same time every morning, and was more severe than I had read about. Oh well. Such is pregnancy I guess.
After the day I tossed my cookies at work, I decided that there is no point in taking my prenatal vitamins in the morning, because I get rid of them anyways. So the next day, I did not take them in the morning, and had planned to take them with supper. That morning was the first morning I wasn't ill!!!!! I couldn't believe it! So I took them with supper, and sure enough, I was sick all night instead. I did this for about a week before I went to my dr and told him what was going on. He asked me about my diet, looked over my blood work, and said that it was most-likely my prenatal vitamins that were making me so sick. He said that all my bloodwork is great, and since my diet and appetite were good, he said he'd rather see me get my vitamins through food. So he told me to keep red meat, tons of fruit and veggies, milk products, etc, and keep taking folic acid. Things will be just fine. I have a ton of allergies, so we figure it could even be a coloring in the pills that was making me so ill.
Since then, I have had no more morning sickness at all. My biggest problem so far is my hunger. Hunger does not exsist the way it used to. I feel fine, and then out of nowhere, all of the sudden my stomach hurts and I feel very nauseated. That means I'm hungry now!!! I always ate 5-7 times a day, even before I got pregnant, and now, its about the same, although some of the meals have to be a bit bigger now. Breakfast is the biggest change. A simple bowl of cereal used to do the job, but now I need a big breakfast like eggs, hashbrowns, toast, etc.
