Its New Years Eve?

Seriously?! Where did the year go!? I have already been off of work for over a year, and I cannot believe it. I am probably one of the only ones on the planet that is sad to see 2010 go. But I am. Jan 2011 is going to suck. Yeah I know. Way to be positive.... But it is going to suck. I enter in to 2011 dreading LO going to daycare, although I know that eventually she'll be fine. Studies say that children whose moms go back to work before they're 3 are just as well adjusted as those who have SAHM. Its just right now she is VERY attached to me, and I am to her too. And she spent a total of under 4 hours in daycare, and she is STILL sick, and cranky as hell. She has been unbelievably cranky the past two days. Crying and screaming for no reason. I know she is still a bit sick with a cough, but this is crazy. She is even starting to kick her feet when she is mad! Temper-tantrums already!?!?! And actually, her being attached to me has WORSENED since the day I left her at daycare on her own for just under 2 hours. So I have this fear that daycare is going to turn my sweet little calm easy going girl into a cranky sick kid who doesn't sleep the night and never sleeps past 6. :D And then there's going back to work. I dread that. Its not working itself, its where I work and who I work with. Even if I could stay at home, I would probably pick up a part time job somewhere for a few days a week. That would be the ideal. So I feel like I am sending her to a germ factory, and I'm off to a Parana tank, me being the lunch. Yep. Happy New year.

LO's 1st Christmas!

We have been looking forward to LO's first Christmas for a while now! On the 23rd she had her alone daycare visit, which went terribly, and I felt kind of depressed for the rest of the day. Then things got even better *ugh* Sure enough, Christmas eve, around 2, LO started to get sick. She started with the runny nose and fever. Christmas day was even worse. She was sooooo cranky. And here we are, 6 days later and she is still sick. She is not sleeping well, coughing like crazy, not eating well, etc. Just another reason for me to hate/dread daycare and going back to work, as if I didn't have a million other reasons! Seriously, she spent 4 hours in Daycare over the span of 4 days, and she gets sick for 6 days and counting. Awesome.

Back to Christmas. Hubby had to work until 3pm on Christmas eve, so LO and I spent the day at home, singing Christmas songs, dancing, etc, until she started not to feel well. That night, we went over to my grandmother's house for supper like we usually do. This year we had fried foods for supper, which I hope we don't do again, because my mom and I were not feeling too awesome after all of that grease.....UGH......Onion rings, wings, mozza sticks. We stayed for a bit after but then went home because LO was not in good humor.

Christmas day, LO slept in till 9:00. We got up, ate, fed baby, and then let her open the gifts that Santa and mom and dad had brought her. Hubby and I didn't exchange gifts this year, we just put a few things in each other's stocking. The coolest thing was looking at one of the gift tags that said "To: (LO's name) From Mom and Dad." It was kind of strange. I've been mom for almost a year, but it was still kinda funny to see that, in a good way. And even funnier was the one my hubby made out for her. "To: (LO's name) Love mamamamama and Bab." LOL That's what LO calls us hehe. LO got some clothes that she can grow into, and santa brought her a doll called babbles, I think. Everytime we went to Walmart and walked by this doll, it would babble, giggle, and jump up and down inside of the box, which was shaped like a crib. LO Loved it. She would stare at it, smile and laugh. We weren't going to get it, but on the evening of the 23rd, we were in walmart looking for a better gift for LO. We wanted to get her something better than the toboggan, especially after I had spent more than we anticipated on it, only to have my step-father look at it and say "why did you buy that, we have 2 in the basement?" Ugh. I was not pleased, especially because it was about 10 min after I had picked up LO from her daycare visit.... i was not a happy camper to begin with! But in the end, we did get the doll (she loves it) and we will be taking the toboggan back.

Then we headed off to my grandmother's house to spend Christmas. LO had a good time opening up her presents. She was spoiled this year! I had to laugh at her though, she had a huge pile in front of her, and she would always come to mine and hubby's pile hehe. Poor thing was not herself at all though. SICK. CRANKY. UGH. STUPID DAYCARE. Hubby and I also got sick, but not as bad as her. I am still fighting mine off, but its really not that bad at all.

Boxing day we went down to my MIL place to visit and exchange gifts. LO was still not herself and sick :( Poor thing. I hate it because I never know if I should take her to the Dr or not... So far we have been using tylenol, saline water for her nose and a nasal aspirator. But her cough is getting worse, and it's keeping her up. Last night was not too bad, she was up at 9:30 until 11 ish, but the night before she woke up at 11pm and didn't sleep until after 1:30, and only because I gave up and had her sleep on my chest in the living room. I put her down when I woke up at 4ish.

Well, she is up from her nap, coughing and hacking. Poor thing. Still hoping for a lotto miracle this friday or sat. She'd be much better off not in daycare.

LO alone visit at daycare

On the 23rd, LO had her "alone" visit at the daycare. I brought her in, and when she was busy playing, I left. I knew she would have a hard time, and I didn't want to be there when she was crying. It breaks my heart. Well, I didn't even make it out of the driveway and I was in tears myself. I'm not someone who cries often or easily, so it even shocked me a bit. But I really don't want to go back to work, and I don't want her to be in daycare. I went to the store to buy her a toboggan for Christmas. Hubby and I figured that would be cool because we can all go sliding. She would sit in front of us, and we would just go down the hill at our house, which isn't much of a hill. And it was on sale for $25.00, which was a plus, because we are really short on $ this year. So I got it up to the cash and she rang it through. "That will be $59.00 please." WHAT?? I asked about it and it turned out the toboggan CUSHION was on sale.... OMG so I used our last $60.00 of cash to pay for it. I went to anther store to get my grandma some socks that she wanted. I had a $10 off gift card that would help. When I got to the cash, she said it was expired. OMG. But she said she could use it anyways if the computer would let her, and it did, thank goodness.

So I went to pick up LO a bit early... I peaked in and saw that one of the workers was sitting on the mat with LO on her lap. "ok" I thought.... "This didn't go so bad.." Then I walked in, and the worker saw me and said to LO "Hey look over this way. Look who's here...... I know you don't want to, but look!" and she turned LO around. LO's eyes were all red and I knew she hadn't had a good time at all. When she saw me, she started crying, crawled over to me, stood up, grabbed onto my pant legs, and, while crying, pulled them back and forth. The worker said she didn't have a good time, and wanted to be held a lot. She said "we held her as much as we possibly could." I felt terrible. I think she could see it because she kept saying "But that is normal." and "it takes a little while for them to get used to it." But nothing was making me feel better at all. So I thanked them, took LO and left.

Wow, what a difference a few days can make!

Just a few hours after I wrote last, LO crawled over to the pantry. She plays in the pantry a lot, and we have things baby proofed in there so that she can only get a hold of boxes, bread, etc. I knew she was over at the pantry, and I got a text on my cell. I went to get my cell, which was also in the kitchen, and when I was about to read the text, I heard "CRASH" and then my LO screaming. Turns out, one of us had accidently put a jar of salsa on the shelf where LO could grab it. And she did. She pulled it down and it fell on her toe, and then broke. Her toe was bleeding and I scooped her up, took a look at it, grabbed paper towel, took her to the bathroom, and used anything I could to stop the bleeding. She didn't want me to put any pressure on it, so it was pretty hard to stop the bleeding. But eventually we got it rinsed and put a band-aid on it. I didn't really want to put a band-aid on it because it looked like it had ripped her toenail. I thought the band-aid would pull on the nail when we took it off, but I also didn't want it to be open, and not be able to stop it from bleeding. When we were finished getting her all bandaged up, I looked around and there was little drips of blood everywhere! On the kitchen floor, bathroom floor, towel, sink, etc. Poor little girl. Even in the middle of the pain and crying, she smiled and laughed when I stuck her toe under the water and made funny noises while I rinsed it off. She is a doll. She was in quite a bit of pain even after she was bandaged up. She kept crying which is VERY unlike her. I actually gave her .5ml of tylenol to help with the pain, although looking back on it, I wouldn't do it again. I don't think she needed it that bad. I was pretty sure her nail was cracked in half and that she might lose her toenail :( Oh yeah, did I mention that our second car broke down, and hubby had the car at work? FUN TIMES. I talked to my hubby, and when my mom found out, she sent him home from work and told him to take LO in to the hospital. I didn't really want to take her to ER, as it wasn't an emergency. I took to the net and researched a bit. It did say that if it was blue under the toenail, she should go into the dr because they would have to drain it. So I decided we'd take her into the walk-in clinic. I was totally nervous because really, it was my fault. I took my eyes off of her. But the doctor had a look and said no need for the glue, or to drain it. There is a cut right underneath the nail that would drain it for us :) So she sent us home with a prescription cream, and told us to soak her toe twice a day. She said there could be a fracture underneath, but didn't see the need for an x-ray, because they would do nothing for it if there was a fracture. I have a bit of a background in health, and I agree. Besides, she was standing on it before we took her in, so I was pretty sure we were fine.

Friday, Dec 17th: Hubby had to work late, so baby girl and I were hanging out at home. She really hasn't taken many steps since she took her first ones, and I hurting her toe would put her back a bit for sure. I was playing with her, and I stood her up and told her to come to me. She did! She walked over to me! So I did it again, and stood away from her, and she walked over, fell forward a bit, got back up, kept walking, fell forward again, got up again, and walked some more! I have this one on video thank goodness! SOOO Proud of her! Even with a cut up toe she started to walk! LOVE my baby girl!

Monday and tues I had to take her in to Daycare for some visits just to get her used to it. On monday when we first got there, she just sat there and watched everyone. Just taking it all in. By the end of the hour, she was playing with the toys and emptying the toy box LOL Tues it didn't take her any time at all. She started playing right away. By the end of that hour, she was pushing toys across the room. Yep, she was comfortable. hehe Tomorrow I have to leave her there for 2 hours by herself. I think she will be fine. Its me that will have issues. Not so much tomorrow though, because I have a TON of Christmas stuff to do... When I go back to work, that will be when I have issues.

Today, she slept till 8:30 after being woken up at 6:30 monday and tues so we could drive into town with hubby. She did not want to nap at all. I finally put her down at 1:20pm!!! That's usually the time she goes down for her SECOND nap of the day! HAHA I guess she's getting rid of her morning nap! Before she went down, she fell right in front of me, and hit the coffee table. Poor girl. Later on she fell backwards and hit her head on the floor. SERIOUSLY??? I couldn't do anything to stop either incident, but you feel like an idiot. When I was feeding her lunch, I noticed that there was a bit of red on her tongue. There is red peppers in what I was feeding her, so I thought that's what it was. I looked closer and it turns out that on one of those falls, she bit her tongue!! Crappy mom award is coming my way! Man.

Giggy giggy

As of tues, LO has started "talking" ALOT more. She baby talks a ton. She just started with G sounds. Tues she started saying her g sounds and saying a word that sounded like "giggy giggy." I finally figured out she is trying to say "Kitty Kitty!" LMAO she crawls after the cat saying "giggy giggy!" I LOVE IT!!!

Right now she is taking a nap. She slept until 8:15 this am (yeah, I know, I'm so spoiled) and went down for a nap at 10:45....its now 1pm.... hehe. I think she is combining her morning and afternoon nap.... looks like her feedings will be all messed up again today! Yesterday she did without her 4:00pm bottle because she slept in till 9am (she got up in the middle of the night from 3:15-4:45ish, which is weird!) so lunch was around 1-1:30, and we had to go get hubby from work at 5, and I forgot to bring her bottle :( But she didn't cry or anything. I guess she got enough at breakfast and lunch. We started her on cheese the other day. Ever since then, she has been a bit gassy. I am supposed to be introducing milk soon and I am worried about that because she had such a hard time with milk based formula when she was a few weeks old. I know that they tend to grow out of it, but I wish there was a way to tell for sure without putting her through the pain! Poor thing.

Just when I was about to put her chair away, she has decided she likes it! She sat in it today and watched tv for a few min! I was pretty surprised. She also found my Burl Ives CD and crawled around with it, scratching it all to heck. So what did I do? Hey! Look what else it can do! And I rolled it on its side across the room LOL. Oh well! Haha.

This past week: Her first christmas pictures, and her first steps! FOR REAL! :)

Last Sunday, we went and got family Christmas pictures done. We have never had any family pictures done, and being her first Christmas, we figured we should get some done. Well, she didn't really love it at all haha. She didn't cry, thank goodness, but she wasn't her usual smiley happy self... At one point I was jumping up and down in heels singing the theme song to the "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" to try to get her to smile! haha. THAT was a sight.... hehe. Even better, was that we didn't tell anyone about it. We thought it would be cool for the pictures to just appear on facebook one day. And it did, last wed :) It was fun. We had to go to a family dinner right after the pictures were finished, and we didn't want anyone to know what we were doing, so we even changed in the car!!! We didn't want to show up dressed up, so we changed in the car on the side of the road back in the middle of nowhere! HAHA

Wed Dec 8th she took her first steps! She was at the dishwasher, which she is obsessed with, trying to get into it and grab some forks and knives. I said no, and started to put the door up. I have to put it up slowly, because she won't let go until the last min. So it was up and she was just standing there. I put my hands out and said come here or come to mom or something like that, and she took a few steps towards me!!!!!!!!!!! YAYAYAYAYYAYAYA! She took a few steps at moms lastnight too which was cool.

Next week we have her visits with the daycare. 3 visits in 3 days just to get her situated. I hate the idea of putting her in daycare, and I hate the idea of having to go back to my job, but I've got to suck it up. :( COME ON LOTTERY!

YAY!

We took LO to meet her great-grandpa for the first time on sat. I was really surprised how much he took to her. When we pulled up, he peaked out of his window! I guess he is a little lonely and was looking forward to us visiting and meeting her. She didn't react so well. Hubby sat down beside great grandpa and was holding LO. She started to cry just sitting next to him, so he didn't get to hold her or anything, but he watched her and laughed at her as she "danced" and clapped and tore around his house lol. She was moving things, and trying to get things off of his table, and moving his walker, etc. He just laughed and said "she keeps you busy!" He walked out of the room for a min, and came back with a little santa head for her to play with, as well as a teddy bear. I thought it was so cute. He seemed like he really enjoyed the visit. We told him we'd be back before Christmas.

We had Sunday dinner at my grandma's house this sunday, like we do most sundays. LO had a great time playing with the toys that my mom and step dad brought over. She is getting stronger on her feet. Ever since I started putting her down in the middle of nowhere instead of right by a table or something she can grab on to (only since late last week sometime) she has become a lot more comfortable with standing. We all thought she was going to take some steps last night, but she didn't.

But she did TODAY!! :) :) We were both standing up, and I was holding on to her hand. She was just by our chair. I looked up to see what was on tv and she let go and seemed to walk towards the chair! But it happened so fast, I didn't see any of it. I just felt it. So I put her back up in front of the chair a few min later, and she walked towards it again! I jumped up and down and said YAYAYAYAYA and clapped my hands, LO sat down and started clapping HAHA. But now that I look back on it, I was standing above her and am really not sure if she took a full step or just stepped forward with one foot. So when hubby got home, I tried all night to get her to do it again, but she wouldn't LOL I'm pretty sure she did take her first step, but I will have to see her do it again to make sure. Isn't that terrible? What kind of a mom doesn't even know for sure if their baby took their first step?!?! I really think she did and I am just second guessing myself. I do that alot.....

Figuring out when to return to work

I'd like to never have to return, or to be able to just go part-time, but that is not an option. It looks like I am going back early Jan. I am not looking forward. It just seems weird to me that I have to put her in daycare at her age, to go somewhere I don't want to be. It would be a lot different if the workplace was different.... But I can tell I am going to have a really hard time with it. And so will she. We went to a friend's place today for a play date and I just stepped away to go to the bathroom and LO FREAKED. I've been hoping and praying since Dec of last year that something would come about (lottery, ANYTHING) that I wouldn't have to go back, but it doesn't look like that will happen. :( Reality is setting in, and I don't like it at all. But I know I am not the first mom to feel like this, and I won't be the last. It just sucks.

Great weekend!

Baby girl is enjoying walking while we hold her hands. I think she is still a ways away from walking though. She still has pretty bad balance hehe! She walks super fast and does not really pay attention to where she puts her feet :) She just likes to go! I just hope she starts walking before I head back to work!

She is getting really good at imitating us. She was standing at the rocking chair in her room today, and I started jumping to see what she would do. She started jumping! She also tries to snap her fingers when we do. Its really cute :) ♥ her!

Today while I was driving, I grabbed my sunglasses and tried to put them on. I realized I was trying to put them on upside down, so I laughed. Then I heard a little chuckle from the back seat! So I laughed again, and so did she. Long story short, we had a giggle fest all of the way from the mall to where dada works! I would be quiet in btw, and so would she, so I would start laughing again, and so would she! The louder I got, the louder and more she laughed! She's too cute!!

We had a pretty good weekend. We went shopping out of town on sat, and LO was pretty good. She almost cleared the car out about 25 min from home hehehe her uncle almost puked I think! LOL She got her picture taken with Santa!! While we were waiting, I was getting her in a good mood. Bouncing her, laughing, etc. When we got up to Santa, she just looked at him. I told him I didn't know how this was going to go. He didn't yell Hohoho or anything like that. She sat on his lap and looked at him. Her shoe fell off (of course!) and the photographer took 2 pictures. One she was looking at Santa trying to figure out what he was doing, and he was looking at her, and the other one, she was looking at the camera like WTF. The second one was a second or two before she freaked out and started squirming and crying! She almost squirmed herself right off of his lap hahaha! We got the first one printed out. They looked like they were talking to each other!

Sunday, we just hung out at home in the morning, and then took her to a christmas festival where people decorate christmas trees and auction them off. She really didn't care too much about them, but she liked being out. Her gramma and grampa came with us. They had a great time playing with her and they bought her a funny monkey ornament. Its got big red lips and is stuffed. Its a grey color. I think it's off of a movie, but I'm not sure. They paid far too much for it ($10) but they love to buy LO things! They definitely spoil her. She has her own toy box at their house filled with brand new toys! She has more toys to play with there than she does here at home! They love it, and so does she haha. They brought the box of toys over to LO great grandma's place yesterday for supper. Thank goodness they did because LO gets into a lot there, and kinda gets bored. Great grandma adores her, but she can't really get down and play with her. LO HATES her play pen, but got in the toy box, which is WAY smaller than her play pen, and played for a while!!! She would freak if I did that at home!

I am having trouble transitioning her to a cup. She still doesn't like the sippy cup. I take the lid off, and tip it up to her mouth so she can see/smell/feel/sip the formula, and she spits it out!!! Even if I pour it from the baba to the other baba (cup) she will still spit it out and make the 'its yucky' face! When I put the lid on, she just chews on it. :S

Oh its that time again :S

Yep. Cranky, runny nose, ear tugging, and drooling. Teething has come and kidnapped my usually content little girl :( The last two days she is not napping well. I hope that is due to teething, and not due to her phasing out her two nap schedule!!! But she is 10 months old, so that could be coming.... BOO.

Yesterday I took her to her play group. We were singing "If you're happy and you know it." She clapped her hands (not at the right spots, but still!) and even stomped her feet when we sang that verse! I thought that was pretty good for her age! And she even tries to imitate her dad and I when we snap our fingers. She looks at us, looks at her hand, and puts the right fingers together to make the snap!! She can't make the snap yet, but again, I thought that was pretty cool! And last night we were watching the mickey mouse clubhouse with her, and her favorite song (the hot dog dance) came on, and she kicked her feet to the music of it! I couldn't believe it! I thought it was just a coincidence until she did it again!

She had her morning nap on me today. She had been cranky, but seems to calm down when I hold her. That's pretty good for me though :) I like holding her! And I really love it when she naps on me! She rarely does either one anymore, so I really enjoy it when she lets me. But about a half an hour ago, she acted like she was tired again (crying for no reason, sucking on thumb) so I put her in her crib. She is still in there, but she is awake. She is cooing a bit, I can tell she is not happy, but she is being quiet most of the time, and not crying. I know I should probably get her, but I am hoping she will go to sleep. She's not crying, so I figure I will leave her be. But if she is still not asleep in a few min, I'm going to go get her.

No real reason for this post!

Nope, nothing real special to write about. Her two bottom teeth are still not all the way in haha. She is saying up here and there, and the words bath and ball are "Ba" Then there is bubba, mummmmummmmummm, and sometimes "oh". She said "I" today, but she had no idea what she said or how to do it again I'm sure LOL

Today was PJ day. Hubby had the car in to get snow tires on, so LO and I stayed in our housecoat and jammies all day :) I love her housecoat! It's so cute. I got a lot of work done despite being in my jammies all day haha. The day has flown by. We even had a pj dance party in the living room, which LO loved, as did I hehe.

I am getting so excited for Christmas. I've always been a Christmas person, but this year I have an excuse to listen to Christmas music early and be giddy like a kid! LOVE IT. LO first Christmas is coming up! We bought her stocking and her "Baby's first Christmas" ornament. She picked her own stocking haha. Hubby held up one that looked like a reindeer and one that looked like a snowman. She looked at the reindeer and smiled. That was the one I liked the least out of the three of course.... then hubby held up the reindeer one next to one that looked like Santa and she smiled a HUGE smile! LOL So she picked her own stocking and I love that I will remember the story behind it. Also, we were walking through the store, and I was looking at some ornaments. LO was in the stroller about 3 feet away from me, with hubby. This elderly lady and her daughter were walking by and they stopped to talk to LO. This happens all of the time, so I thought nothing of it and really wasn't paying that much attention because hubby was with her. The women finished and continued down the aisle. Just before they turned away the elderly lady said something to her daughter. Hubby heard and asked me if I heard also. I didn't, so he told me that she had said "Now THAT is what Christmas is all about." Don't know why, but it made me smile. Nice to see some real Christmas spirit, and nice to know my LO brought some Christmas spirit to someone else. :)

A woman I work with had a baby girl last night and all I dreamed of last night was being in labor. Nice. Didn't make for a good sleep, and didn't make for a happy momma at 7am, even though I really shouldn't complain! Her sleeping is still great, but her wake up times are all over the place. Can be anywhere from 6am to 8:30. Hmmm Other than that, not too sure what to write! Love my girl!!

We are 10 months old today :)

I find myself saying this post after post after post, but I will say it again: I can't believe how much she is changing and how fast time is going! We got her a spot in daycare starting in Jan :( I think that is terrible, but the daycare is pretty good, and I think she will like it. I just think that a year old is too young for a child to be taken care of full time by someone other than family, well, really mommy, but that's just me!

We bought her Christmas dress on sat! Its the same one we saw weeks ago in a store in our town, but DH didn't like it. He said it looked like wrapping paper :( I loved it. But I wanted him to like it too, so we went looking for others. We went out of town and went to 6 stores, and then bought the one that I liked in the beginning, because DH said it grew on him and he liked it the best out of all of the ones we've seen LOL Even so, we bought a 6 month because she wears 6-9m clothes, some 9-12m, and a few 3-6m, but of course, the 6m dress we bought was too small, so back it went. Thank goodness the store at home had a 12m, which, is too big at the moment, of course! But she is growing a ton lately, so it might be ok.

We also looked around for a baby girl's first christmas ornament, but turns out we are late in the game for that!?!?! They were pretty much all sold out! We picked up some clothes for her, as well as a snow suit (which is way too big, but the next one down in size is way too small.) We got some good deals. One store we went to, we ended up getting $37 off, and another place we got 81.87 worth of stuff for $1.87 because of points we had built up! Awesome! :)

We went looking for a carseat for her (again). What a headache that is. Some are good from 5lbs, some 20, some 22, some are good up to 67lbs, others 80lbs, and still others 100lbs, some recline, some don't, side impact tested, or not....UGH! So we bought one, put it together, and found out that she is still too small for it. And after that, we learned there are new regulations that suggest you leave the child rear-facing for as long as possible. Rather than until 20-22lbs like we thought, its now suggested that you leave them RF until 30-40lbs! And we want it to recline well because LO still sleeps quite a bit in the car. So we took the other one back, and are pretty much at square one again! Ugh. Not fun! But I did find a good website that compares a few so that was pretty helpful. Not sure which one we will go for, I think we may just leave it for a few days!

As for LO, she is standing up on her own pretty well now. Today, I could've sworn she said "up" in her crib this am when I went to get her! She makes an "o" noise now, and she also blows like something is hot lol. She also makes the "fishy face". She started clapping last week. Every time she would stand up on her own, we'd clap, so then she started clapping her hands (not hard enough to make any noise) every time she stood on her own LOL. Yesterday she stared clapping and actually making noise. She likes to clap now hehe. She is eating so much more now too. Probably has doubled her solid food intake in the past 2 weeks.

If grampy or grammy take her hands, she will walk with them for a few steps, but will not for us. Last night at a family supper, she walked with them a lot more, and a lot better. Then DH tried it and she did walk with him!! And then with me too! Very fun! She still walks on her tip toes a lot, but is learning to put her feet flat.

Can't wait till Christmas! We still have to get her a stocking and a 1st christmas ornament. We will be taking her to santa pictures on the 12, but there are so many people supposed to be going, I'm not sure how it will turn out.

Busy Busy Busy!

WELL! It was a very busy October, and I can't say that I am sad to see it go.

LO had her first ever sleep-over on Oct 23rd! She stayed the night at her grammy and grampy's house while hubby and I went to a halloween party. She did really well. She went to sleep around 8 and slept until 8, which is her normal schedule. Or was....

The next day I took her to a baby Halloween party! How fun! It was so neat to see all of the babies dressed up. They were so cute. There was an angel, skunk (LOL), little red riding hood, dragon, elmo, and a ton more. They were soooo cute. LO was a little cranky until I fed her a bottle. After that, she was back to climbing on everything and chewing on everything. Haha. As per usual these days! She was a monkey for Halloween, and it was a bit big in the tummy making it kinda heavy.... she fell backwards a few times LOL. The hostess had her parents dress up and come over to see the kids. Most of the kids hated it LOL But we all thought it was pretty cool. LO didn't really love it, but didn't cry like the rest of them. We had a blast. While I was packing up her diaper bag and treats that she got from the party, LO was unpacking.... I lost one of her treat bags! :( I was a bit disappointed when I got home and searched the bag, car, house and couldn't find it... oh well. What can you do! While we were at the party, I overheard one of the mom's say that her kid had been puking the day before. I thought why on earth would you bring him today then?!?!

The next night, hubby and I went to a movie, and LO stayed at grammy and grampy's again. She was quite cranky. Mom said she was not herself at all. Tues morning, Oct 25th, she popped her second tooth through! So we figured that was why she was so cranky. The other tooth popped through on thanksgiving but is really taking its time actually coming in!

Tues night, we put her to bed and around 9:30pm she started crying. I waited for a bit to see if she would go back to sleep, but she kept crying. So I went in, and she was covered in VOMIT!! It was all over her and the crib :( Poor girl. So I got her all cleaned up, and she did it again. That night, she hit the crib, the floor in her bedroom, and the floor, blanket, etc in the living room. The poor little thing was sick 4 times between 9:30 and 11:30. I couldn't believe it! At one point, she was on her hands and knees with no sleeper on, getting sick on the floor. I'm rubbing her back when I realize there is vomit on my hands and her back too. :'( She would cry while she was getting sick, but then after I could make her laugh. That's the kind of baby she is. She still would smile and laugh... A baby that little should never be sick like that, especially because some silly mom wouldn't keep her kid home from a party.

The next day wasn't much better. She didn't throw up much, only a tiny bit in the kitchen around 11am, but she didn't want to do anything. My baby that is full of energy and never wants to be held because then she can't move around turned into a heap that only wanted to stay still and sleep or be cuddled. I loved the time with her, but I knew she was pretty sick to be like that. And then the poops started.... She got quite sick that night in the living room around 7:30pm. After the first time she threw up, we covered everything and everywhere that we would be holding her in blankets and sheets. We did a TON of laundry that week haha.

Thursday, she was getting better. She was playing, but still not eating much, and refused juice, water, and the pedialite we bought. I tried freezing it, spoon feeding it to her, sucking it up in a straw and putting it into her mouth, you name it. NO GO. She is a pretty picky eater...

Friday, Oct. 29th came around and she still had the poops, but at this time, really nothing was coming out. Just little bits, and a bit of liquid. She still was not eating well. Mom and grandma wanted us to take her to ER that night because our family doctor was away. So we decided we would. First trip to the ER. We waited 3 hours. We knew it would be a long wait, it always is. We had to change her diaper 3 or 4 times while we were there. I didn't want to change her at the ER bathrooms, so I would take her down and around to one I thought looked cleaner. I put her on the change table and she freaked. She was so scared! She was even shaking! We don't have a change table, we just change her on the floor, so I think being in a new place, and then being strapped to the table really did it for her...

Back in the waiting room, she was entertaining the other people that were waiting! I was holding her and she would hang her head behind her and look at everyone upside down and smile! Everyone was laughing and saying how strong she was. Then one lady across the room started making lip smacking noises to her, so she did it back to the lady! Back and forth the two went for like a half an hour! The lady was like haha look what I started! I was really proud of her. It was past her bedtime, she wasn't allowed to crawl on the floor, and she still did very well. She started to seem like she was going to fuss a bit, so I went for a walk with her before she could get into it. But she always stopped. When we got in, the dr was examining her and she screamed! He said that was a good sign, and that she had tears when she cried, and that her mouth was still wet, everything looked good, she was not too dehydrated at all. As long as she kept drinking her milk. He said that milk products is the best thing for diarrhea. Follow the BRAY diet. Bananas, Rice, Apples, Yogurt. Which is what I had been doing, minus the yogurt. She has not been introduced to yogurt yet. So that was that. We were doing everything correctly. That's always nice to hear! :)

She was pretty much better by sat, but still had a bit of the poops. We decided that we would not take her out trick or treating on sunday night because we did not want to get our family sick. Hubby and I both got it (not as bad as she did), and we never get sick, so we knew it was a pretty good flu. We told everyone we'd take her next weekend, and they all agreed. I didn't realize how crappy I would feel about it on sunday though :( I know she will never know that its not halloween next weekend when we take her, but I will!!! She missed her first trick or treating!!! I think we may have been overcautious, but I guess that's that's better than getting everyone sick. So we took pictures of her outside in the leaves with her costume, and with pumpkins. We carved pumpkins, and roasted the pumpkin seeds (FAIL. They got thrown out the next day....), and tried to make it as halloweenish as we could for her. But I still feel bad! But she was cranky has HELL that day, so taking her out could have proved to be a bad idea....

All last week she slept until 9 or 9:30ish, because she was sick I guess. Usually she is 8-8ish. She got up in the middle of the night on sat night. I think her teeth were bugging her. It seems to be that she is getting up more and more at night. This morning she got up at 5:15!!!! I tried to let her go for a bit. Once she actually started crying, not just making noises, then I got up and held her in the rocking chair for about a half an hour. I already figured I'd just feed her early. I put her back in her crib at 6am and she jumped right up and started saying mama baba. mama baba. So I thought why not. She has been very cranky lately, and I thought it was just that she has been sick, and her teeth are coming in. But I was thinking yesterday, maybe her appetite is changing and she needs more food. So today I am feeding her a bit differently, and even though our schedule is messed up because she got up so early, she seems to be not as cranky.... she still is a bit though... haha.

I have given up on making her food. It was fine at first when we were introducing apples, pears, plums, carrots, peas, beans, etc., but now that we are into meats and things like that, we are having texture problems.... she won't eat it, and I don't blame her because its usually very dry, or too chunky, etc, so I think its best to give her some baby food, and get her used to the tastes first. She is already a bit of a picky eater, so I don't want to make it any worse... I've been wondering if she is so picky because we didn't introduce enough foods to her, but when I look at the menus/instructions the nurse gave us, we aren't that far behind. We are a bit, but not too bad. Wheat I held off because of family intolerances, but am introducing it now. Well, I started last week, but she barfed it all up that night. LOL She hates the apples, bananas and pears mixture from gerber. She likes all of those fruit by themselves, but you should see the faces when I try to get her to eat this! She is making fishy faces now. And they get really exaggerated when I try to get her to eat that mixture LOL Today I gave her vegetable chicken dinner, and she LOVED it. Its her new favorite!! At first she was like um, no. I put some on a spoon, and put it to her mouth so she could smell it. She opened her mouth, I put some in, and she made a "eww yuck" face. I told her it was good. (smelled great!!) Gave her some more. She had the yuck face.....then hmmm wait...... this isn't so bad....... and then the eyes went wide and the huge smile came over her face LOL Then she opened her mouth and waited for me LOL She has NEVER done that before!!! Love my little girl!

Sat she got her first toothbrush and had her teeth brushed for the first time! We got her a cute little pink piglet toothbrush (although I have a hard time buying my daughter things with a pig on it, but she loves it....). She, just like we anticipated, freaked out when we first tried to brush her 'teethies.' She clamped her jaw down, and kept whipping her head away. When she cried, I put the brush in. It was a bit of a struggle. But today, she is pretty much opening her mouth for me, although she still doesn't love it....

Yesterday we ate cat food for the first time.... I have a box up blocking her from the cat food and cat box. She got in and got a cat kibble before I could catch her. I had to dig it out of her mouth.... I thought ok, she's tasted it, now she'll know its gross and never do it again. OH NO. SHE LIKED IT. I can't get her to eat a banana, pear and apple mix, but she's all over seafood flavored cat food?!?! Now every time I turn around, she's over there, at that box, trying to get more. Looks like I will have to move the cat stuff soon..... but WHERE?!?! Baby's up. gotta go!!

this and that

My LO is 9 months old now! I'm still ignoring the fact that I will have to go back to work in Jan. I think I will live in denial until I walk through the doors on my first day.... whenever that is...

LO is climbing up on everything now. She stands up all of the time now, and grabs things off of the tables and tv tables constantly. I know this, and yet there is still a ton of stuff that we leave on the table waiting for her to dump on the floor... Today she climbed on top of the laundry basket (after she turned it over and dumped all of the clean laundry out of it). She climbed over it and did a face plant while trying to climb off of it. A pair of jeans she dumped out of it earlier broke her fall so she didn't even flinch. Mommy sure jumped though!

She is cruising more and more. She grabbed onto a tv table and fell, dumping it over.... so no more tv tables.... haha.

We've had a busy week. The weekend before last was thanksgiving. We went over to my grandma's place for dinner with the family. LO was a little cranky, but she had been sick the week before so I didn't think anything of it. However, while we were over for thanksgiving, LO was chewing on my finger and something in her mouth pinched me! She had a tiny corner of her first tooth coming in! Its her front, bottom right tooth. Now, over a week later, it has broke through the skin, but still not close to being fully in.

We went to play group on wed and because she had been cranky the week before, one of the leaders said hi to LO, and then said "Did she bring her attitude with her?" ????? I couldn't believe it. The only thing I could say back was "Yes, she brings that everywhere with her." I wish I could say something else like "Oh I see you've brought yours."

This weekend we were invited to a combined birthday party. LO first party! It was a pretty good time! There were babies and toys everywhere! I felt a little bad though, because they said no presents because they were going to have a donation box there and we could donate to their favorite charity. So we did not bring a gift, even though I thought to myself, who does not bring a gift... but the invite said no gift, so we didn't bring a gift. Yeah, well, we were one of the few who DIDN'T bring a gift, and we couldn't find the donation box. Oh yeah. We felt pretty darn stupid... and still do.... :S They even had a treasure chest for the guests to pick a gift out of! At one point, we thought this was the donation box and thought crap, we only brought $... Oh man...

After that we went to another family dinner at my gramma's house, because she got out of the hospital on friday (FINALLY!) She had been in since April, so it was pretty exciting. She was pretty excited too haha. She kept talking about how well she slept because no nurses were going in all hours of the night to wake her.

Well, LO is having a rough night already. We can't complain though, she hasn't been up in the middle of the night for a while. And even now, its only 11:30pm. But its unusual for her. Stupid cat went into her room and knocked the dehumidifier off. When I went into scoot the cat out, LO Woke up and I tried to get out before she could see me, but no such luck.... WAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH :( I tried to let her cry, but it didn't work, so I went in and rubbed her back for a bit. She stopped crying but wouldn't sleep. So I picked her up. Yeah I know, no good can come of that. haha But at least I'm not as soft as her dad, who was ready to run in when she first cried.... haha. She was wide awake. Smiling at me, etc. She is SO wide awake. Well, there's nothing I can do there. I can't hold her till she falls asleep (although I would LOVE to!) So I put her back down and walked out. She cried for a few min, then stopped. Then started again, then stopped. She is still squawking a bit here and there, but if I go in, I'm done for! Poor thing.

She is in the temper-tantrum stage now. I know. I can almost hear your collective chuckles and "You think that's a STAGE?!" I have to admit though, I didn't think the temper-tantrums would start this early. Man oh Man LO has a mind of her own already. If I take something away from her or tell her no, she will fall down in a heap and cry!!! Its crazy! Speaking of crazy, I misplaced the liners for her bottles sometime after lunch. So when suppertime came, I couldn't find them anywhere. I looked for about 20min and finally gave up. I made her formula in a glass bottle and gave it to her. Um, fail. Big time. It wasn't in her plastic bottle so she wouldn't drink it! Nor will she drink anything cold, refuses to eat any different textures, and won't drink juice, even if its watered down.

Well, looks like I'm done for.... She keeps screaming, and then stopping, and screaming again, and stopping.

Ok so I went in and held her. We sat in the rocker (But I refuse to rock!) and she stopped crying right away, but was wide awake. So I sat there and held her while she turned this way and that, and tried to catch a glimpse of what dada was watching on tv.... finally she started to act tired (Thumb in mouth, closing her eyes, covering her face with her blanket). So I put her down and rubbed her back till I thought she wouldn't notice if I left.... So far so good... although she did just kick the wall.... and there it is. A tiny cry. But these ones she usually can put herself to sleep again no problem. I think we're good, but we'll see! Wish me luck!

Had a great laugh tonight!

My poor little girl is sick, and has developed a nasty diaper rash, seemingly out of nowhere. We decided to let her run sans diaper right before her bath. I had just washed the bathroom floor and didn't want her getting any of the chemicals, so I put a blanket down in the bathroom. We got some of her toys and hubby and I sat on the floor and played with her. After a while, we decided it was time for her bath. I was laying on my right side, and she stood up beside me, facing me, hands on my hips to see what dada was doing. I said out loud: "Hope she doesn't pee or she'll pee all over my boob." HAHA we laughed. Dada turned on the water to fill the tub and said something like pee on mommy, and she DID! I said "OMG SHE IS!!!! HAHAHAHHA" Hubby said "WHAT???" and I was laughing so hard I could hardly say yep and there she was, standing, and peeing freely on my boob (on my shirt)!!!!! OMG I don't know the last time I laughed that hard!

Sick :(

Well, we had a good run! She made it to 8 and a half months before she got sick for the first time. Poor little thing. She had a terrible night sunday night. I ended up sleeping all night with her on the chair. I thought it was because she was so over tired because she didn't get her afternoon nap. At 4am I finally got her sleeping in her crib and climbed into bed. 10m in later, she woke up again. I have to say, I was a little angry. I didn't know she was sick, I thought she was just over tired. So got up and went to her room. By the time I got to her room, I was fine. I picked her up and went back to our chair. This is when she kinda spit up/threw up. It was clear, so I didn't worry, but I immediately felt terrible for being mad about getting up. I even said "Oh I take it back hunny. LOL Then Monday she started with a runny nose, but it was clear so I didn't worry. She seems to get sicker in the afternoons for some reason. Monday and tues afternoon her morning nap was on me. I figure the rules go out the window when she is sick. Poor thing. Tues was much the same. Wed morning, she seemed not too bad, just a bit cranky, so I took her to play group. I should have known right away when I put her in her car seat and she freaked out. She doesn't usually do that, but this time she really freaked out. Play group was a bit better, but I wouldn't let her touch the other kids or have the other kids play with her toys. She did have a fit at one point, which is awesome, because a lot of the moms were new and didn't know my little one, and here she is screaming... I was a little embarressed.... then it didn't get much better when the woman who heads up the play group said "What happened to the sweet little demure girl who slept in mommy's arms all through playgroup a few months ago?" The other woman who runs it said "they grow up!" The first woman went on to say "oh its like a complete personality change." Yeah thanks. It wasn't that bad, but she did used to just sit there through play group, and this day she was crawling around trying to take the woman's paper, and trying to get into things while the other kids just sat there.... haha..... Then there was a little girl who is 2 weeks younger than mine who is practically walking! Her mom puts her fingers out and the LO grabs on and walks around. If I try to hold on to my LO hands, she immediately plops down on her butt! I felt retarded. And it got better. My friend was there and has a LO who is 2 days younger than my LO. He eats sandwiches? I never have any clue what to feed my LO and when. Turns out I am behind I guess. So yeah, yesterday just sucked. It made me feel terrible and that I am not where I should be with introducing her food. Everywhere I look I get a different story on what I should be feeding her!?! Its so frustrating. I think I'm going to say to hell with it and give her a steak tonight.

After play group, I got her home and noticed that she was sort of wheezing when she plays. But only when she is excited. Last night we gave her some saline drops to loosen up her nose. WELL. She screamed murder. Seriously, I thought our neighbors were going to come over to see what was going on.... last night she had a rough night too. She had a bit of diarrhea. So I'll see what goes on this afternoon and decide if I will take her into the clinic tonight or not. Ugh poor girl. Oh, did I mention I'm sick too?

Hello for energy!

Yep, LO has a ton of energy, but so do I today.... 2 half coffee half not chocolate for someone who never has more than one can sure make for a productive day!

LO had an extra-long nap this AM. Almost 3 hours! I was able to get a lot done, and even felt a little bored after a while...?

LO is all over the place now. She is standing/climbing on everything, and even starting to cruise a little. I've noticed she is starting to crawl with flat feet and her butt up in the air... only for a sec, but still, I can see that she will be doing something new soon.

This AM after her marathon nap, I fed her before I changed her. I figured she will probably poop while/after she eats, so I will just wait. I have done this a few times, but today, it was a mistake.... hehe She pooped through the side of her diaper, on her leg, a bit on her belly, and onto her sleeper. What's even better is that she hates to be changed, and never sits still for it. Diaper/getting dressed looks a little like this: I put her on the floor, she immediately flips over. I flip her back, she cries, and flips over. I flip her back. You get the idea. And somewhere in btw the floor antics, I manage to get her diaper changed.... usually not without some serious grumbling and frustration on my part....Today, with the massive poonami, I actually found it kind of funny, and so did she! I had ahold of her ankes, trying to wipe her poopies off, and she was flipping around, while I was screeching "NONONNNONONONONNNNNNNNNNOOOOOO" I got her wiped and then I let her go. She was thorouly impressed with being left to run around her room in her birthday suit. I have never let her do that before. She was so excited, she kept grabbing onto things and waving her arms up and down smiling and laughing. I let her do that for about 10 min, and then I decided it was time to change her. Well, the stuggle continued, and she was even kicking my chest when I leaned over to look her in the eyes and say "Shhhhhhhh" (Whatever, it works sometimes.....) So yeah. I really hope this is a short-lived stage, but somehow I doubt it. I have been reading online and most kids do this, but not until after their first B-day! Something tells me I have a very independent little girl with a temper. Another little me. Lord help us all, but especially my husband! Two of us not only in this world, but in the same house?!?! Oh he is going to need a lot of help, or a lot of booze....

We moved her exasaucer into the final stage last night. It was the stage that I was most excited to get to, and its the one that LO is least interested in! I can't blame her though, I don't really love it. Even on its tallest setting, she doesn't need to stand to play with the toys. She can just kneel. And its not that stable. She doesn't really care for it at all yet. I'll leave it out for another week or so and if she doesn't warm up to it, I guess I'll put it away :( But really, for a toy to last us 8+ months, that's pretty great. I don't regret it at all. It was a life saver more times than I can count. I can't believe she is growing out of all her things already! She never uses her swing anymore. She pretty much hates it. She will cry if we put her in it now. The only time she will use it is if she stands up and grab onto it and kinda sway with it LOL She's a cutie.

She is waving hi and bye now, but not every time. I'm not even sure exactly when she started this.... Man her baby book is going to look silly with a bunch of "I dunno" or "Can't remember" where dates of her firsts should be..... :S Glad I started this blog, although I haven't been too disciplined with this either.....

Discovery day!

Little one has been particularly cranky the last few days. I think its teething, but I've been saying that for the past 5 months. News Flash: I really have no idea and am just guessing. :S Won't know for sure until those pesky little teeth finally show. But I am really hoping its teething.....

Yesterday was a day of discovery for my little one. I decided to pretty much let her have run of the house and see what she would do. She discovered the pantry. I left the door open to see what she would do, and she had a ball. The first thing she did was take a few boxes out and play with them. Then she crawled right into the first shelf! I turned my head to look for the camera and Wack! She discovered the first shelf of the pantry has a 4 inch drop to the floor. Eek! Poor thing bumped her forehead pretty good...She cried quite a bit over that one. Way to go mom. :S

She also discovered that toilet paper is really fun to unravel :P And she would have found out whats in the toilet if I had let her... gross! Sorry, I'm not that easy going.... bleck!

A friend and I got together yesterday for lunch. We were going to take the babies for a walk, but she decided it was too cold (and it was a bit windy) so we decided on lunch instead. After a mix up (She was waiting inside for me, and I was waiting outside for her, for a half an hour LOL) We sat down to lunch. Little one was pretty good for a bit, but soon got fusterated when she couldn't get down and crawl around. She is a very busy little girl! My friend's baby is almost 6 months old, so she doesn't quite have to deal with the busyness yet. In saying that, I know that my LO is just going to get busier. Trust me, I know.... lol My LO was super cranky yesterday and although she was fairly good at the resturant, I was pretty glad there was no one in there. She let out a few high-pitched squeals, and was not too happy being in the highchair or being held...My friend's little one was getting tired of being there too, so we ended lunch early.

Getting her ready for her bath was another little adventure. Hubby and I were in the bathroom with her and I was getting things ready and he goes "Omg. Did she just..." I looked to find a big puddle under little one.... yep. She took her first pee on the floor last night. LOL

LO is pulling herself up on pretty much anything and everything, and doing it quite slickly. Every once in a while, she will be standing for quite a while and then all of the sudden start crying. I'm not too sure what it is, but I think that she thinks she's going to fall, and is afraid. Other times she falls down on her butt with no problem at all.

She still doesn't really know what to do with her sippy cup. She thinks its a teether I think hehe. She loves her ball, the cat, and frozen wash clothes. Not too much of a fan of chicken though, but that could be a texture thing. I was using the magic bullet to make her baby food, and the seal was loose. I threw it back in, not paying much attention to how well it was in there. I thought oh well, the worst that will happen is it will leak. Um, wrong. It fell in and got chewed up in her food. Awesome. I swear I get dumber by the day :P So I've been mashing her food up until I can borrow one of my friend's seals.

8 months old tomorrow!

Wow! Where did the time go?! LO will be 8 months old tomorrow, and she is full of surprises and changes. She has been 'talking' since sat. I could make out mmmmmmmummmmmm here and there ;) But yesterday, when we were out with grammy and grampy, she said Mum very clearly!! She said it quite a few times yesterday and today!!! She looked right at me and said mum today! She also looked at the cat, rubber ducky, and even the diaper genie and said mum, but whatever, I'll take it LOL

She is starting to stand up on her own. She does it maybe once a day or so. The first time she did it was on labor day. Hubby and I were both watching her. She pulled herself to a standing position at her exasaucer. It was so cool that we were both there to see it at the same time. That doesn't happen often!

She got her first ball and sippy cup on sept. 12. That was pretty cool. She loves the ball. She will chase it all over the house. And the sippy cup, well she loved chewing on it, but I have no idea if she actually got any apple juice from it!

She had her first taste of mum mum rice rusks last week when a friend and her LO came over. I bought them and gave her a whole one today for the first time. She loved it. I increased the amount of food I give her today too. I only started feeding her cereal in the morning a few weeks ago, and I've doubled it already, and today I doubled her food with lunch and supper, and she ate it all! She doesn't always eat all of her bottle, but she always eats her food!

And with all of the new things and milestones comes tempertantrums!!! WOW. It is almost impossible to change her diaper or get her dressed. She squirms, throws her self around and cries. She's got a temper. Great. Two of us in the house. Poor hubby :P She will even tap her head on the floor if she is mad. Its crazy!!!

Last night, hubby got a flat tire, so I had to wake LO up and take her out to where hubby was. WELL, she didn't sleep well after that at all. She was up from about 12 till 2ish. I was VERY tired, and she was crying and screaming. It was a wonderful combination. >:( But she finally went to sleep and thank goodness, she slept until 9. ♥ my little girl!!!

Still no teeth, and no sign of them either! I'm ok with that.... she still doesn't have much hair either haha.

She still loves the cat, she likes to twist the bottle when she drinks from it, her favorite book is hands hands fingers thumbs (she laughs everytime we read it to her!) she loves that ball, and pretty much anything new.

Pulling herself up!

This is going to be short and sweet because my computer is acting strange.... and I don't want it to freeze up again. Plus its 10:30pm and I'm just tired.... :)

On tues, she started pushing her butt up in the air with her hands and feet on the floor. She also played a coughing game with her nanny where she would cough and look for nanny to cough too, and if she would, then LO would cough too lol.

For the past few days, she has been standing on her knees and rocking. She also waves her arms around very fast, especially when she is excited.

On wed or thursday, she learned how to scream LOL She is really developing that talent.... she screams when she is happy (that one's not too bad) and she really screams when she is not so happy.....She is also starting to throw tempertantrums if I won't let her play with something (Like the VCR, or computer wires). She will scream and cry.... I thought tempertantrums weren't supposed to start this early? HAHA I think we may be in for it!

Today she went over to her exasaucer, and pulled herself to a standing position! Her dad and I were both there to see it which was pretty cool. We were so happy. We made a big deal of it and cheered and clapped. She LOVED the attention lol.

She also was in a tent for the first time today. I think we really messed up by not putting it up sooner. Its a giant playpen!!! I bring her outside with some toys and we can play in the tent and I don't really have to chase her. SO annoyed we didn't do this earlier. I spent pretty much the whole summer inside and we could have been playing in the tent!!! She loves it, although she keeps trying to eat the floor of the tent....???

She is teething, but still no teethies. Not sure how long she will teethe for, but I am hoping that teething is behind the not so great moods lately, but who knows!

She sits up all of the time. If she is sitting up and I say "Dance" or anything like that, she will wave her arms like crazy and rock on her knees. I LOVE IT LOL

Her new favorite toy is Elmo. We gave it to her a little over a week ago or so and "Elmo loves you yes he does, yes he does, yes he does! Elmo loves you, yes he does, please hug Elmo" has been playing constantly in my head ever since!

Creep, crawl, sit, bonk.

I sound like a broken record these days, in more ways than one! I always start out the blog posts with something along the lines of "Well, its been long enough since I wrote" and "she is changing so much!" Its so true though! I honestly thought it had been alot longer since I wrote last, because she has changed so much! Now she is all over the place. Just when I think she can't move any faster, she proves me wrong! She crawls sometimes and creeps others. She moves from crawling to sitting very smoothly now. It's crazy how fast she does it. She is teething now, but still no "teethies" in site. We use her play pen ALOT more now! Her exasaucer just doesn't do the trick like it used to. Neither does her swing. She likes them still, just not for the amount of time she used to. I could put her in either one while I ate a meal and she would be fine. Not so much anymore. She doesn't like to be stuck in one spot. The swing is useless unless I am going to be right there because she has found a way to turn right around in it, or lean so far forward she is almost hanging out.... haha.

Yesterday she found the door stop. WELL. You'd think she struck gold. She will pull it over and over and over again and be totally mesmerized by it! I LOVE IT. Cracks me up!

I was making up some baby food yesterday while she was drinking her bottle (or trying to!) I had a bunch of carrots in the magic bullet trying to blend them all up. When I opened the container up, the carrots on the top were all blended, but the carrots on the bottom were still whole. There was a bunch of air in btw the mushed carrots and the whole ones. I don't know what I was thinking, but I thought it would be a good idea to hit the container on the counter to get the mushy carrots to fall. Well, they flew instead....all over my face and housecoat LOL I turned around and looked at her and said "What did mommy do!!" And she started to laugh!

She is conking her head so much lately! She will be sitting up just fine, then all of the sudden she'll flip around or fall over, and conk. Or she'll be crawling along and crawl right into something! "Bonky Bonk" as we say, to her. Usually she doesn't cry, but every once in a while she will hit herself good and give a little cry.

Well, I guess I have to accept that I am going back to work. I really have been trying to figure out a way that I won't have to. I'm not really good with the idea of having her in daycare this young. But it looks like there is nothing I can do. I'd better call the daycare today. :'( NOT cool.

Recap of the last few weeks!

Well, little one is 7 months old now. On the day she turned 7 months, we were visiting family members that were camping. We put her in her bathing suit for the first time, and hubby dipped her feet in the water.... she didn't love that at all LOL I think it was because the water was so cold. I took her in again a few min later, and she still didn't love it... she cried a bit, but not too bad! That night the campground owners set off a ton of fireworks about 250meters away from the camper. Little one was sound asleep when the fireworks started, and she STAYED that way!!! I couldn't believe it! The noise startled me at first, but she didn't move at all! She was so tired, poor thing! And she slept through the whole fireworks show, which lasted probably about 30 min!

She had a rough night on friday/sat. She woke up around 4am and didn't go back to sleep until 8am! That is so very unlike her. And then all day sat she cried. I thought she was teething, but sunday she woke up and she was back to her old self.... Hubby and I went out for a few hours and left her with grammy. Grammy said that she had to work really hard on her BM, and was crying. So we think she may have a touch of the flu. She slept the night no problem last night and she is napping right now.... and has been for 2 and a half hours.....

Last night when we got to grammy's to pick her up, grammy was feeding her. She sneezed and spit formula all over grammy's face, glasses, and in her mouth!!!! OMG we laughed so hard!!! LO just kept looking at us like WTH is so funny??

She is crawling around like crazy now. She can make it from one side of the room to the other in no time, which means no more turning my back to do something while she is loose!!! HAHA. She is trying to pull herself up on things now. The other day I was unloading the dishwasher and she grabbed onto the door, and tried to pull herself up. She also can go from her belly to sitting up now. She did it a few times the other day, but I thought it was a fluke, until she did it today when I went to get her out of her crib! Go Little miss!!

This A.M at 5:30am, I heard this weird noise over the baby monitor... It sounded like she had her blocks and was hitting the crib with them! I knew she wouldn't have any of her blocks in her crib, so I went in to see what was going on. She was sound asleep, and the noise was her sucking really loud LOL

We finally got her Winnie the Pooh decals up in her room. We are way behind on that. We had them before she was born, and it took like 7 months to get them up! Terrible! But they are up and her room is looking pretty fun!

Things she loves right now: The Cat, mom's dog, exasaucer, Sophie, her wipes tub (??!), the tub (and soaking everything around her!), my purse, shoes, and frozen cloths, the little green frog song, etc haha.

Speaking of the bath, the other night she splashed so much of her bath out of the tub that I was soaked, and so was the floor. When hubby came by to get her bottle ready, he slipped on the soaked floor and almost fell!!!

I want to get her up from her nap right now, because she has been sleeping for over 2 and a half hours, but if she hasn't been feeling well, its probably best to let her sleep. Poor thing. She already had 2 BM this am, and she usually doesn't have any till lunch.... I'll wake her up for lunch. Till then, I get to play on the computer! Although I should be cleaning.... ugh.

SO I've been slacking on the blogging front these days!

Its been a very busy few weeks in our household. Most of the things I dare not talk about on here! But little one is doing great. She is crawling on her hands and knees now, as well as getting up on all fours and rocking LOL. She has eaten rice cereal, carrots, sweet potatoes, green beans (FAIL!), peas (BIG success!), and apples. She had her first trip to the zoo on Aug 1st with her grandma and grandpa, daddy and I. I thought she would make more of a reaction at the animals because she loves animals so much, but I didn't think of all the fencing that would be in the way.... She had a good time anyways. Her favorites were anything that didn't have a fence LOL. She also had her first trip to McDonald's that day, although all she got to eat was rice cereal and formula LOL. Her first trip to the park was this past sunday aug 8th. We didn't stay long. Just long enough to put her in the swing and take a few pics and have her teethe on the swing. GROSS! haha. She is getting into a lot more, and she is being more vocal. Babbling a lot today, and coming up with different sounds everyday. No real words yet, although we thought we heard mum the other day. Wishful thinking I guess!

We took her on a little trip on sat. We were going to take her to the beach, but we couldn't find any that were free, and on the private side of things.... Little one was grouchy (She had been in her car seat for HOURS), so we stopped at a church (didn't realize it was a church till after) and decided to take our blanket out and lay on the grass with her. She loved it. And I thought it was the best part of the day!

I know there is probably more to write about, but its time for little one's lunch!

Friday, July 30, 2010

I just skimmed my last post to see where I have left off. I had written that LO went to bed early two nights in a row. WELL, we put the brakes on that.... Tues night, she went to bed about a half an hour, maybe 45 min early, and she was up from 1:45am till 4:30am!!! I had no idea that messing her schedule up a little bit would prove to be so disastrous! So we've got her back on her old schedule and she is sleeping just fine, thank goodness. I don't mind the odd night here and there of having to get up. I just don't want it to become routine. The night that she got up in the middle of the night, her and i had a giggle fest.... hehe I can't even remember what about, but it must have been pretty funny, because we took turns laughing :P

With the exception of today (so far), she has been a bit cranky lately... I think she may be teething, but I'm not too sure.

She ate her first solids outside of our house yesterday. I took her to grammy's house and she got fed in her Bumbo. It went over pretty good, although she didn't want to drink her bottle. I think she was too distracted with all the new things she could look at. And it didn't help that the dog was trying to sniff her head, lick her hands, feet, etc. LO loves animals, and really thought this was pretty funny. Later on when we went outside to try and calm LO down a bit, the dog was actually showing off for her! He was tearing around, running in circles, etc and LO was laughing and laughing. She loves animals. She is in love with our cat. Always tries to 'pet' her, which is usually grabbing a handful of fir.... thank goodness our cat is pretty patient, which surprises me..... The last two times I took her for a walk around the cove, she laughed at the ducks! Not sure why but she thinks they are pretty funny!

She is starting to get the hang of crawling. She can definitely get where ever she wants to go, but she still looks like a little frog! LOL She has her legs bent out to the sides and just pulls herself along! Today she was putting her legs underneath her a bit more, so it won't be long.

So the bath incident has traumatized her :( We put her back in the big bath on wed night and she was fine for about a min, and then she started crying and shaking. After her bath, I lifted her up in the air to clear the side of the tub, and she was gasping she was so afraid :( Poor thing. We decided to move the baths back to the sink for a while and hopefully she'll forget. Last night she was ok for a few min, but again started crying, and when I lifted her up she started gasping again :( Not quite as bad as when she was in the big bath, but still. Poor thing. She LOVED the bath before this!!! I think tonight I will put a towel on me and then lift her out of her tub and on to me so she is not in the air for long.... Not sure if that will help. We'll see!

Sweet potatoes

Its been a great couple of days. Yesterday I took LO to her first baby party. It was a Hawaiian theme, which was really fun. A lot of the older babies were wearing Lai's (sp?) and grass skirts. My LO is too young for that, as everything goes into her mouth, including the other kids grass skirts.... haha. It was really neat to see the babies interact with one another. LO was the youngest one there, and she had a ball. She missed her nap, was fed on the floor, and she didn't make much of a fuss. She did fuss a little bit when she was really tired, but nothing too loud. One of the moms said she was really quiet and was a good partier LOL.

Last night I had a bit of a scare with LO. I was bathing her in her little tub, inside of the big tub like we've been doing for a few days now. She leaned forward to get her ducky. She does this all of the time so I didn't think much of it. This time she inhaled a bunch of water!!! She was weezing and coughing and crying! I took her out of the bath fast and turned her over. I have no idea if that's what I am supposed to do, but its what I did without thinking. Everything turned out fine, she coughed it up no problem, but it scared me to death. As soon as she was ok, I put her back in the bath right away so that she wouldn't be scared of it. Again, no idea if that is what I should have done. I felt terrible about it all night. Tonight when I bathed her, I stuck my whole head in the tub so I could see what she was doing. NOT going to let that happen again. It was much easier to see her before because she was at eye level, but now I have to look down, so I have to adjust the way I keep an eye on her I guess. Scary scary scary.

Today she got her first taste of sweet potatoes. She didn't make any faces, it was pretty much the same as carrots to her haha. Today she started this weird thing where she takes some in her mouth, then sucks her thumb! After every bite this afternoon she did this! I am SO regretting taking her soother away so early. I really didn't realize how much she would resort to the thumb... I thought it was only going to be when she is tired.... she is doing it more and more these days, and I'm sure its too late to re-introduce the soother...

We played on the floor like we usually do. We also had a little photo shoot on the floor. We layed on the floor with our heads close together and I took pictures. I loved it :) She had fun too haha.

She went to bed early for the second day in a row. Not sure why, but now she starts getting really cranky around 6:30 and we have a hard time getting her to 7pm before we start her bedtime routine. I can't put her to bed much earlier though! Oh every time we get a good routine going, she changes it!

She even let me walk on the treadmill for 25min while she played in her exasaucer right next to me. Ahhh what a good day :)

Carrots = success!

Wow! There is so much to blog about this time, but I am SO sleepy, I don't know if I will get through it all. If there are a lot of typos....you know why :)

LO crawled on Friday morning! Like really, belly off of the floor type crawling :) She has been pulling herself around for a while, but this time she put her legs underneath her and went! I was so excited, I raced to the computer and put it on Facebook. Tons of people liked my status, and lots made comments. Yay I have a crawler! But maybe I should have waited before I told the world because, she hasn't done it since.... LOL SO now I feel kinda silly.... her aunt and grandmother called after seeing my status, and even came over to visit to see her crawl. I explained what had happened...and I put her on the ground to show them how much she actually does move. She can easily get from one end of the room to the other in no time at all, even if she doesn't take her belly clear off of the ground. But, of course, yesterday when her auntie and nanny came over, I put her on her belly and she didn't go anywhere at all.....And the more I tried to explain what she does, the less she actually did....and the dumber I felt.....HAHA Oh well. What can you do. Lesson learned. I won't put it on facebook that she has taken her first step until she is 12......

She had her first taste of carrots yesterday :) She LOVED them! I was quite surprised. I thought they'd end up everywhere but her mouth, but she ate her whole serving! She ended up with one little speck on the top of her head, but other than that, she did pretty well. She really didn't make too many faces, which is strange because she is a very expressive baby. She made way more faces today when she was fed her first non-warmed up bottle.... hmm.... that doesn't sound like a correct term.... but I'm going to leave it because I'm tired, and I know you get it. :P

She has discovered how to splash like heck in the bathtub. Now that she has moved over to the sitting part of the bath, she splashes like crazy. Thursday night she soaked me and half of the kitchen. Friday night, she even got her grandma who was watching from afar.... not sure how she did that! Last night, we got wise and put her tub inside the bathtub. You should have seen the face when I put her in there! I caught part of it in a picture, but it was definitely a WTF look, if I've ever seen one LOL

This morning I had her on my lap because she had been fussy, and I was eating some cereal and surfing the net at the same time. I had to laugh. You would never have seen such a thing even 10 years ago! But this is the face of today's mom! As I was thinking this, LO grabbed a handful of my cereal and when I said no and took the bowl away, she dropped what she had on the floor under the computer. 'Nope. THIS is the face of today's mom.' :D

I seriously can't believe how fast she is changing!

Well, its been quite the week! Little one had a "Baby well" Dr's appointment on Monday. I love these appointments because I get to see how much she has grown and how much she weighs, etc. My doctor gives us a print out of her height and weight on a chart that also has previous visits plotted on it. At 6 months old, I have a 'tall' and small baby LOL She is only 14.8lbs! Hehe. Just a tiny little thing. But when I asked him if she is doing well for her age, he said she couldn't be doing any better :) That's always nice to hear. It's almost like a conformation that I am doing the right things.

She had her 6 month needles yesterday. She did very well. Cried more than last time, but didn't cry for long. She is such a trooper! After her needles were finished, every time the nurse would come near her, little one would start breathing faster like she was going to start crying again!

We took her over to my mom's house last night and put her on the carpet. When we put her toy a few feet in front of her, she pulled herself towards it until she could grasp it. This has been going on for a little bit, but my mom had never seen it. I wish I could have taken a picture of my mom's face! She was so excited! I loved it. Today, little one is almost crawling! She lifts herself up off of the ground and gets her legs and arms going at the same time! She is moving a lot more, and a lot faster. She's just not lifting her belly that far off of the ground yet. I give it a week and she'll be zooming around here. Time to baby-proof the house!

On Tues, I was putting up our new curtains in the living room. I had little one in her swing, and she was watching everything I was doing very intently. I hung the valance scarf, but it didn't look right. I stood back and asked her what she thought and she did the razz noise! HAHA I loved it. I said "yeah it does look pretty bad doesn't it?" And she made the noise again! We both had a great laugh over that.

She has been eating rice cereal since sunday. She gets it twice a day at lunch and at supper so far. I'm not sure if I am supposed to be feeding her solids with every meal or not, but I think for now, this is ok.... I'm always playing the guessing game.... I think motherhood is one big guessing game....Today, I had her in her highchair and I was trying to feed her some of her rice cereal. She likes to try to feed herself, so her hands are always covered in the sticky mess that was once a meal.... haha. Today she decided that her eyes needed rubbing.... HAHA what a mess. It was everywhere! I loved it. We, again, had a big laugh over that. She loves to laugh!

A few more firsts!

Wow. Little one is really changing! She's growing so much and so fast! On Friday, hubby was holding little one and she leaned out and towards me. She has done this a few times, but this time, she reached out to me and grabbed on to me. I let her guide me and she pulled me in and 'kissed' me on my cheek! :O It was so cute!!!! I loved it!

Yesterday we went out of town with her. We've done this a few times before, so it was no big deal. It was much harder to feed her this time, as she is much more interested in what is going on around her. All 3 times we fed her on the road, she didn't drink as much as usual, and took much longer to eat. Yesterday she got to go in her stroller without the car seat for the first time! She loved it. We went around the mall with her in the stroller and she just loved looking around and seeing what everyone was doing. She got tired a few hours into the trip so I held her till she was almost asleep, and we leaned the back of the stroller back and she went to sleep while we shopped! :) We went out for supper and put her in her bumbo. She didn't want to stay still! She tried to eat the table, place mat etc. But she was very quiet and let us eat. She was such a good girl. She didn't make any noise at all! The waitress came by after about an hour and said "WOW, she has been such a good baby! Haven't heard a peep out of her!"

We got home a few hours after bedtime. She had a good sleep in the car, but when we got home, she didn't really want to go to sleep. She went down around 11:30 or so HAHA. Hubby put her first highchair together last night as soon as we got home. I think he was a bit excited LOL So far we like it. Its an Eddie Bauer deluxe. My only complaint so far is that it doesn't fold as well as I would like, and the fabric isn't easily cleaned, but other than that, its pretty good.

Today she got her first taste of rice cereal! It went pretty well. We caught most of it on camera which is great. She made some pretty funny faces! I didn't think she liked it at first, but by the end of it, she was grabbing the spoon and putting it in her mouth on her own!!!! I loved feeding her! It was pretty fun. Now as I say this, I know that sooner than later I'm going to be sitting there with her and saying to myself OMG I wish she would just EAT, or UGH I wish she didn't just throw that on the floor. haha But for now its pretty cool. I can't wait till she can eat something with a bit of taste!

Today we took her for a drive, and then fed her her first meal of rice cereal for lunch. It must have given her some energy because she won't nap!!!!

She is on the move...Kind of....

Yesterday morning, I put her down on the blanket in the middle of the kitchen. Her and I hang out here quite a bit haha. I put her rubber ducky in front of her, and she pulled herself to it! She's like a little frog. She doesn't 'crawl' yet. She pulls with her arms and pushes with her legs, but doesn't lift her belly yet. Well, she did for 2 little strides, but then she flopped down and never did it again. I don't even think she realized she did it LOL. She pulled herself all over the kitchen yesterday! After a bit she gets kinda mad because when she goes after something, she usually ends up pushing it away.... then she gets frustrated and mad. She will do that growling noise she does, and then she'll get mad and cry or scream. Last night, she did the frog hop for her dad as soon as he got home. It was pretty cool. But today, she doesn't really want to do it! She's doing it a bit, but not as much as yesterday.

She is 6 months old today! I can't believe it! I can't wait to feed her solids this weekend after we get her highchair. Will definitely have the camera rolling for that! Even if she will only be getting plain rice cereal at first! Well, its 11:40am and she is waking up from her second nap today.... time to feed her!

Changes!

Wow. Little one is almost 6 months old. She is changing so much! We pretty much spent the weekend at my moms house. While we were there, little one started to sit up when we were trying to feed her! She has been doing this now and then for a bit, but not to the extent she did yesterday! When we got home, she even sat up in the bathtub! Today, I've been sitting her up and letting her try to balance herself. She is doing pretty well. At one point, she sat up on her own for like 30 sec before she toppled over haha! She toppled frontwards a few times, and one time, she kicked her legs underneath her and pushed herself up so she was on all fours and her stomach was off of the floor! She was SO close to crawling! She even moved one of her legs forward! But then she toppled over again LOL. I put her on the floor while I was making supper and she kept pushing herself up on all fours. I picked her up and put her in her chair because I wanted her dad to be there if she started to crawl! But then when he got home and we put her back on the floor, she just laid on her stomach and brought all 4s up in the air like she is swimming haha.

She had a little fit an hour before we were going to get her ready for bed, so we ended up putting her down for a little nap. When we got her up, she had pushed herself up against the crib and her head had 2 red dents in it from the bars of the crib! UGH I wish we could use bumper pads!

I bought her first box of cereal today :) It was on 3 for $9, so I got 2 rice boxes and one wheat box. She will get her first taste of cereal very soon. This weekend we are heading out of town to get her highchair. I wanted to feed her the cereal right on her 6 month birthday, but we figure we should have the chair first, just to set her routine up. :( We are so excited to feed her solids. Its funny that someday she will eat everything we eat, she will crawl, walk, go to school, etc and we will forget that we once were so excited for something so normal. Something that everyone does. But somehow its like a small victory for us as parents to see our kids reach these 'common' goals.

New Schedule=so far so good!

Little one has been on her 'new' schedule of getting up at 7:30am and going to bed at 7:30pm for a few days now. It has been going very well. Yesterday she wanted to sleep in till 8am though, which was ok because we had a mommies thing to go to last night, and we usually don't get home until after 8pm. It was great to get out with her last night and talk with some other mommies. I went from having something to do every day of the week but Thursdays, to having nothing to do at all! But its summer and I'll start taking her out for walks and stuff like that. There are a few places that I can take her close to home so that won't be so bad. We've been sitting out on the deck on a blanket in the early morning lately. Its pretty fun! She loves it, and we get to spend time outside before it gets too hot. The other day a squirrel ran out onto the deck about 2 feet away from her haha. She watched it walk across and then run under the deck, but didn't really care too much. I love our blanket time!

So much for my 8am sleeper!

Little one has decided to change her schedule again.... just when we get used to it! I was really loving putting her to bed at 8pm and feeding her again at 8am... Spoiled. I know...The last week or so, she has been getting up earlier (btw 7 and 7:30) and our night time routine has been a struggle. She is screaming and kicking after her bath now. Its really hard to get her dressed. She flails around and throws herself around. I swear she was going to hurt herself!! So we have decided to change things around and start her night time routine a half an hour earlier. Today was the first day on the new routine, and she fussed a bit, but not nearly as much as usual. She was in bed sleeping by 7:40, so it worked out well.

She is doing this grunting growling thing too. Its kind of annoying.... I'm hoping its just something she has learned to do with her voice so she thinks its neat. But it sounds like she is making her pooping grunt. It also sounds a bit aggressive... which is scary! But I am sure its just something new for her.

Today we went shopping. I took her into the first store in her stroller. The other two stores I took her in her baby bjorn carrier. LOVE that thing! We hadn't gone shopping in it yet, and she seemed to really like it. I felt like people were looking at me strange though.... oh well! We had a good time! I bought her her first bowl and spoon set! She is not on solids yet, but will be this month! VERY exciting!

We had a bit of a poop situation today LOL I changed her diaper, and she had pooped just a little bit (Shart as my hubby calls it LOL). I put her in her exasaucer for a bit. She started to fuss a bit, so I went to get her out and I could smell the poopies. So I changed her and it was all the way up to the top of the back of her diaper. It didn't go out of the diaper, thank god! So I'm changing her, and she decides to flop around a bit. Next thing I now, there is poop on my bare leg! Somehow she got her foot in her poop, and then hit me with it!!!! So I laughed and continued to clean her up as fast as I could. I was worried about her getting poop on the blanket that I was changing her on, and I dropped the poopy wipe on my other bare leg! So there I was with poop on both of my bare legs, with BOTH of us laughing haha!

G2G! bachelorette is on!!!

I went through her clothes today, and the story of how we found out she was a girl

Well, I went though the closet and her room today. It was very unorganized, so I took some boxes (a diaper box and the Bumbo box) and put the clothes that are too big in one, and the clothes that are too small in the other. My little girl is pretty small, so there hasn't been a whole lot that she has grown out of. The too big box is stuffed full, and the too small box only has about 5 or 6 outfits in it :) I was particularly sad to put 2 sleepers in the too small box. One was the one that we found out she was a girl, and the other was one that caught my eye every time we went into the store, even though we thought she was a boy at first!

So we decided we wanted to find out if we were having a boy or a girl ahead of time. We figured we could get the room ready and buy the right kind of clothes. But we didn't want to find out by a tech telling us while I lay on a table. So during the ultrasound, she asked us if we wanted to know the sex. We said yes, but I asked her to write it down and put it in an envelope. We took the envelope to the store and picked out a gift bag, a blue onesie and a pink onesie. We took everything up to the cashier, gave her the envelope, and told her to look at the envelope and put the right onesie into the bag and seal it up. We would be back to pay for it. The cashier kept saying how weird it was, but by the time we got back, she thought it was pretty cool. We told her that we were going to open the gift up on our first wedding anniversary. So the bag sat on the mantel for over a month! It was SO hard not to look. We thought we were having a boy, but I kept dreaming about pink. I even had a dream that I moved the bag, and it was open, and I accidentally saw inside, and it was PINK! In the dream I was like OMG Hubby is going to think I looked on purpose! So a month later, our anniversary came. We told everyone that we were going to open our gifts after supper, but when we got up, we obviously couldn't wait. We opened the gift up, and there was a PINK onsie in it!!!!! We were so excited!!!!! I am not a crier, but I cried. I was so happy. Hubby teared up, although he will say he didn't LOL. After that, we went out for breakfast with my mom and step dad. We actually had the bag with us in the car, but didn't let them know. We pretended we didn't know anything yet. That was SO hard!! After breakfast, we went to my brother's house and got him to open it up. He was shocked. He thought it was a boy. I think he may have been a little disappointed because he said before he didn't really know what to do with a girl, but he loves her like crazy. Then we packed everything back up again and took it to mom's. We filmed her as she opened it up with my step dad. She was SO excited. I think she teared up too :) And then we took it over to my grandmother's house and got her to open it up. We took pictures of her opening the gift up. It was so cool to be there when each person found out. If we waited till she was born, then only hubby would be able to see everyone's reaction when everyone found out. But this way I was able to find out. That night, friends brought a gift over for us, and we showed them the onesie. It really was one of the best days of my life. We dressed her up in that sleeper to take her home too. It was WAY too big for her LOL So it was very bittersweet to put that away :(

Her first parade!

Yesterday we took her to her first parade. I was a little worried, because the night before, she was up from 4 until 5:30am!!! I couldn't believe this! She has always been a great sleeper. Oh well, a few nights here and there are still nothing compared to what most people have to deal with!

She did well at her first parade! She didn't really care much about the "floats" (we live in a small town, and most of the floats are really just decorated trucks and cars haha). A few caught her eye, but she really didn't care. About half way through she got a bit cranky. We took her out of the carrier and flipped her horizontally and held her. She fell asleep within seconds haha. She slept the rest of the way until the very end when all of the fire truck sirens went off.

We took lots of pictures, which I am happy about. I feel like she is growing up so fast and even though I'm here every second, I still feel like I am missing things. But writing this blog and taking pictures really help me remember everything.

Here's a few firsts that I haven't written down yet, but they're really just for me. I know you guys don't care when she drank her first 8oz bottle, or when she started rolling around LOL

June 3rd: She drank her first 8oz bottle. Almost a month later, she only drinks an 8oz bottle once every few days!

June 5th: She rolled over from front to back for the first time :) She had been rolling from back to front for a little bit, but today she went the other way! I was trying to get everything packed to go out of town to visit a family member in the hospital. I had her on the floor with nothing around her while I left the room for a second to get something to put in the suitcase. When I came back, I caught her rolling :)

June 6th: On the way home, we stopped in a city along the way to meet up with my mom, step-father and brother. We went to a restaurant and put little miss in her Bumbo. She was having a good time chewing on it and we had a good time chatting with each other over supper. When we were done, I picked her up and realized that while she was chewing on the bumbo, she had drooled so much that it was all over the seat, under the bumbo, and, oh yeah, all under my pants! I had this huge wet spot on my butt and half way down my leg!! It looked like I had peed myself! We all had a good laugh and went on our way.

June 10th: She started to make a razzing sound. She did it all day and still does it often!

June 11th: She sat up in her infant to toddler rocker and pulled on the toy dog to make him sing! She had never done this before :)

June 30: She's grown so much that hubby had to bring the exasaucer up to a taller setting! Its crazy because when we first put her in it a few months ago, she couldn't touch the bottom of it on its lowest setting LOL

July 1st: her first parade :)

Today's accomplishments: one mommy mess-up and a few baby firsts

Still being sick, my brain is a little foggy. When I was making the baby's bottle at lunch, I lost count of how many scoops of formula I had put in the bottle. I needed 4, but I wasn't sure if I had 3 or 4 in there. I read that if you put too much formula in the bottle and not enough water, it can overload their kidneys. I was leaning towards 3 scoops being in there, but I didn't want to take the chance. I also didn't want to waste the bottle, so I mixed it up and had a look at it. It looked pretty normal, so I gave it to her. She drank for a bit, but at about half way through the bottle, she started blowing air into the bottle through the nipple!!!! I laughed and asked her what she was doing, and she smiled at me! HAHA Then she blew into it some more! You could see the bubbles going in like blowing air into your drink through a straw when you were a kid! It was pretty funny. I have never seen her do that before! So I got the hint. I threw it out and made a 4oz bottle correctly... and she ate half of it.

She was playing in her exasaucer today and I looked over to see her pull on one of the toys (it makes music and lights up some shapes on the arch) and lean way back to watch the lights go! She'd lean forward, pull on it, and then lean way back so she could see it! Too cute!

She's grabbing at things a lot more. Two different times today, I was holding her when I went to get her bottle. I carried her bottle and her, and she stretched her arm out trying to get the bottle. She will grab right on to it and shove it in her mouth. She's been doing this for a little while, but I haven't written anything about it yet. She will also reach for glasses. The last few times we've gone out for breakfast, she has reached for our glasses. Usually my juice, but sometimes hubby's coffee mug, so we have to really keep an eye on her! My hubby is addicted to a local coffee spot and whenever he has a cup from this place, my daughter stares at it and has grabbed it on its way up to his mouth LOL She knows. HAHA

We bath her in a tub at the kitchen sink, although she is getting into things a lot more now and we'll soon have to move her to the bathroom. Today she was in the tub and she kept turning off the facet while I was trying to run some water to rinse her off! I kept turning it on and she kept turning it off. hehe What a little bum!

She had her first diaper rash today :( I guess at over 5 months old, and not using any cream on a regular basis, we did pretty well. Its not bad at all. Just a small little patch that I found this afternoon. I put some cream on it a few times, and it looked a lot better at bath time! It didn't take too long at all. She doesn't seem to be uncomfortable because of it at all.

Nap times did not go all that well today. Today I pretty much had to rock her, which I never do. She was a bit cranky today, and I was sick, so I just did whatever I could to get her to nap so I could rest up. She had 3 short naps rather than the usual 2 longer ones. Still, the shortest was a half an hour, longest was a little over an hour. Bedtime is still going good though. Tonight she wasn't too tired because she had a little snooze in the car right before we started her bedtime routine. She basically just moved around in there. She was up about an hour and we only had to go in twice to reposition her because she got herself smooshed up against the crib again.... haha. poor thing. But now she is asleep. Hubby is off tomorrow and will be getting up with her so I can get a bit more rest. Not that she gets up really early. Today she got up really early for her and that was at 6:50am. So I know I have NOTHING to complain about. And trust me, I am so not complaining. Just need a bit of extra sleep to try to get rid of this flu. I rarely get sick, and I don't remember the last time it had me down for this long.

Night all and hope you all have great, uninterrupted sleep!
